Low last night was 8 (that's not calculating wind chill) .....that's like -20 deg to us West Texas folk

Broke the tie downs lose on the trampoline and threw it over the fence....that's twice this year

Don't guess when winds like that hit there is much you can do...this time the trampoline is getting anchored with wire rope

yikes. I drove through teas once with a trailer on my jeep, couldnt get over 50 due to the head wind....worst 3 hrs of driving

We call a light breeze 15-20mph, anything under 15mph is no wind and a great day

been looking at other homebrew sites about a speidel and seems like a lot are out of stock??

Is it coincidence that Christmas is near and being sold out or what?

granted I am in no rush but i like how they look and NorCal has a spigot I can attach along with a bent elbow to get most beer out of it, its got to be better then my using my racking cane. Some judges say they taste some oxidation in my beers

I would hope the spigot and a layer of co2 in the keg could change that.

I need to have judges taste my beers...I have never entered any competitions.

My homebrew club love the competitions. We hold 3 in club comps through the year. This last year I won a 3rd place for a cider and then entered a Gose out in LI and won 1st for that.

what else do people here brew?

I have made a mead and also done 2 batches of cider.

our homebrew club bought 250 gallons of cider this last November and last Jan bought a couple hundred pounds of honey

I believe I have convinced my daughter to brew with me this weekend. She seems interested in the process....if I can help her and get her going...

I should give it a shot this next year. Just to get some feed back from other than friends/family. Some friends/family members won't even give it a try and bring their own swill each time. Others drink it like crazy saying this is better than any other beer they have had.

I've brewed few batches of Ed worts apple wine, cider, mead, 2-3 batches of wines per yr.

I've brewed two meads, two ciders, and fermented a beet kvass and kefir water.

Is it possible to be addicted to adding TC fittings to your kettles? Now that I have successfully soldered on 3 TC firings i want every possibly hole that's in the kettle TC.

Too cold to do much today. Watched Holiday Inn with the youngest two.

I suppose you could add up to two for a sight glass.

All my fittings to this point were weldless so I have a few holes to convert

3 holes in kettle , 4 in the other

The element holes have been made TC, as soon as the elements go out I am buying the new elements that have TC with the twist lock on them.
