Extremely pointless trivia:- Donna's dad was played by Bernard Cribbins, who recorded a comedy song a million years ago called Right Said Fred. Yes....That was where those gay guys got their name from.

LGI is too sexy forum this forum.

We've been re-watching the series on Netflix.. just finished S4:E14. Still crying. Damn them.

Donna was horribly annoying until the last few episodes.. but she had great bosoms.

So we're out to supper tonight... and...

i didn't hate Donna as much as I hated Martha. Martha was just pathetic, Donna was in between but they more or less killed her off, because she couldn't remember him or whatever so you really don't have to worry about future cameos. Though the writers on Doctor Who clearly don't care about paradoxes and things of that nature as Rose keeps coming back and I' msure somewhere down the road Amy will as well, not to mention all the Dalek stuff.

Personally I vote the companions as

1. Rose
2. Amy
3. Oswin
4. Captain Jack
5. Rory
6. River
7. Most of the parents
8. Donna
9. Matt Smith's bowtie
10,050,432,452,120.5 - Martha

She's signed on for next season so I'd guess not.

But I'm sure she'll be killed off. Just like Rose and Amy, kill off the ones the fans love, leave Martha Jones alive and kicking.

Sorry but the only companion - that is someone who was there for more than an episode - and died is Adric. All the other die of natural causes (ie getting old) Rory and Amy got old, seperated from the doctor, but old. Just like Donna forgot the doctor, but so did Vicki and Jamie.

Yes the one on the starship Titantic dies, but she was with him for just one episode.

During the summer I take my daughter to the library every couple weeks to check out books. I've taken to checking out vintage Doctor Whos. I just finished the Key To Time series. Tonight I'm watching The Krotons with Troughton.

I really like Martha but thats mostly because, to my wifes annoyance, I'm extremely attracted to her. But Rose was pretty hot too.

I'm just finishing season 3 on Netflix. My daughter and I love the show, except Daleks, those guys are annoying.

Haha! Yeah, I was not too opposed to Martha either for the same reason. The daleks though? yeah...They ARE kinda crap, but they are historically VERY significant to the show. To have Dr. Who without the Daleks would be like watching Mythbusters without science.

Just happened to be browsing for rumors on the new Doctor this morning, and came across this

The new Doctor will be announced in a special on BBC and BBC America this Sunday night at 7PM (August 4th!).

I got a thing for redheads and Amy was easy on the eyes I'm not against Clara/Oswin either.

True enough... ;). Also, realized that the new Doctor special is on at 2pm eastern in the US. Apparently they're simulcasting it. And guess who has a rehearsal to be at from 2-7 today?

Blah, I won't be able to catch it at 2pm. Most likely be on every other hour after tho.

I DVR'ed the relieving of the new Dr.
Not sure i want to watch it. Would rather find out wile watching the actual show. Full immersion and all that.

That being said.. what do you think of the new Dr. If you know who he/she is?

Is the new companion a hottie?

The new DW has not been cast yet. (That's their story, anyway)

I think I like the choice of actor for the new Doctor. Definitely a different direction than Matt Smith and, unlike Smith, kinda looks like a Doctor from day one. I remember watching Smith's regeneration scene and just seeing him, thinking "ehhhh, I don't know...". Of course, then I watched his first episode or two, and I realized things would be just fine. But this new Doctor just kind od "looks" right. It'll be interesting to see what sort of costume the new Doctor adopts (this non-use of pronouns is getting tiring).

As for the companion, Clara's not going anywhere just yet. No reason for her to. Just like Rose stuck around for the regeneration from Eccleston to Tenant, or plenty of others in the old series. Its actually pretty uncommon for a newly regenerated doctor to also pick up a new companion.
