TABC regulators are dumb enough to think implementing this plan is somehow a good way to stop unlawful transfers of alcohol within the state (trading) after seeing Pennsylvania make some moves to the same end.

I have no insider information that is the intended goal; it just wouldn't surprise me.

It's only for international arrivals .... right now...

Eventually they knock on your door and ask to see your cellar and the receipt for that bottle of Pliny you've been aging. ;)

Seems like Jester King successfully lobbied rules to keep out lambic after HORAL got mad about methode gueuze.

And Bastrop Buc-ees for some jerky and maybe a taco...
If you haven't banged these yet they're spectacular.

*Big Bend

Isn't Alpine/Green Flash having massive problems?
Dur. Big Bend in Alpine, TX. heh.

And yes, they were foreclosed and liquidated to another owner last week. Virginia brewery closed and liquidated. Barrel aging brewery shuttered. They also pulled out of 30+ states a month or two ago (still coming to TX and they're still operating right now).

So Lonestar just announced that they got some Cantillon Gueze. Is this a thing now in TX?
Was wondering that myself.
Jester King helped them get a license so they could have a proper Zwanze Day with bottles available to go and additional pours available (proceeds from ZD ticket sales paid for half and Jester King paid for the other half iirc)....

They turn up about ever 6 months at Jester King and get sold instantly.... I've seen D&Q Beer Station down in Houston get a few bottles here and there as well.

So yes, legit. Flood distributes them.

Have I ever seen one on the shelf though? Nah. I keep wondering if I'll catch one at Spec's sometimes in the dusty lambic section next to Gueuze Mariage Parfait.

I knew about Zwanze, but figured it would always be a JK only type thing. Living in Dallas it will be nice to get teased up here every once in a great while...

Specs and even some restaurants and such have gotten them in Houston too, through Flood.

My last meal at Oxheart I passed on the wine pairing and opted for a 750 of Kriek.

Hahah... I really shouldn’t look down the rabbit hole that far. Uh. I got a phone call and an answer ... I’m going to have Gene delete my last 2 posts.

DM me if you’re really curious but, uh, yeah. If we could table that discussion, lol.

FWIW the bottle shop around the corner from my office got in a few bottles of Cantillon gueuze. Rumor has it several other shops around DFW are getting a small amount.

Not sure if any is getting out to Austin or Houston. We usually have different distribution up here.

I had the guy at the bottle shop near my office call Flood to ask if they had any more being delivered and they said they only received 2 cases and it was already gone.

Zilker Third Space is fantastic. One time only release though. If they brewed it regularly it would probably be my 2nd favorite Austin IPA behind Electric Jellyfish.

Going to be in Dallas for a few days in late June for a work conference... I assume Live Oak is still not distributing cans in DFW?
