You're missing ABGB!

Pick up a Barks For Beers passport. Killer deal for a good cause and it'll be worth it if you're hitting a bunch of breweries: http://divinecanines.org/barksforbeers/

May do a bottle share that weekend if you're interested - open invite to everyone else too.
Went to the site but can't figure out how this works. Do you have to buy a beer glass at each brewery? Where do you buy/get the passport?

At the breweries.

That shows the status of glasses. You really just need the pawsport, each brewery will give you a pint in their own glass. Some breweries limit what you can get (Lazarus, 4th Tap, Zilker) but most don't. Remember to tip $1/beer.

Austin Beerworks isn't selling glasses or pawsports, but are participating. There's a pretty interesting story about that that I probably shouldn't tell on the internet. :)

Also apparently South Austin Brewing is closing their taproom for renovations for the summer. Uh, if anyone cares? (They're on the pawsport)

Well now I want to know the story, I don't think I have heard it.

I wrote my Texas Senator regarding HB3287, how they voted in favor and how I was disappointed. I'm sure it'll go to auto-trash, but so it goes

Hit a lot of breweries. Hops & Grain was by far the favorite. St Elmo has a lot of promise being so young. Spent a lot of time driving.

Agree, Saint Elmo seems on the right track and they're my favorite out of the recently opened breweries here. Nice diversity in styles and their core kolsch is solid.

Karl Kolsch is my go-to beer along with Live Oak Hefe when I want something low ABV and refreshing at the bar.

Yeah, I like what they are doing at St Elmo. The guys who run it were previously from Austin Beerworks, so I had high expectations and so far they've exceeded those in this short time they've been open.

Going to Corpus Christi tonight for my brother in law's high school graduation....

... gonna try to check out a few breweries tomorrow/Sunday....

... can anyone report if any of these breweries have actually gotten good? Last time we went we stopped by Lazy Beach Brewing (supposedly the best in town... packaging brewery and everything) and A) their beer sucked and B) their taproom was setup like a Russian discotecha.

Also been to Lazy Beach...was disappointing. I know this is too late, but I liked Lorelei Brewing for something to check out on your next trip down there. Small place but beers were better than Lazy Beach, and also better than the 3-month-old IPAs that they have sitting on warm shelves in Corpus.

Also, had my first sighting of LO Berliner cans at Mueller HEB today! They are still cold...so tempting to crush one at work.

Seeing this knowing that they just stopped distro to DFW makes me a whole lot of mixed emotions...

Hefe, Pilz, and Berliner all available in cans. Its going to be a good weekend trip to the lake...

Edit - has anyone tried Independence Brewing Illustrated Man? Any good?

If I had to choose between it and Blue Owl, I would choose Blue Owl. However it was worth a try for sure.

Any of you Austin folk happen to be going out to JK and can snag a few Foudreweizen for me? I can venmo/paypal and supply a label. Or reciprocate with trade. Or touch your tip. Whatever works.

It's on shelves in Austin, and I thought I had read some was headed to Houston or already there. I'm a little busy and leaving the country this weekend though, so unfortunately I can't help right now.

It was very limited in Houston. Wasn't able to get any unfortunately. Had prior commitments.
