If anyone is interested in trying it on tap, the Draught House had it on last night..... has landed
I don't see how it could be different from other hoppy session ipas. The major plus is that you know its fresh compared to other options. If anyone is interested in trying it on tap, the Draught House had it on last night.
I thought it was good, but it didn't blow my mind or anything.
I think they're joking saying "Colorado Session IPA" as the beer is 7.5% ABV, lol.I don't see how it could be different from other hoppy session ipas.

I can honestly say that this event in 2011 or so was the drunkest bottle share I'd had. I ended up sleeping it off in the back of my car. That share began at 7am tho, lol.
It did along with their Lager and some citra IPA who's name escapes me but was decent.Cigar City INSIDE talk:
The Jai Alai on shelves this month came from the Tampa brewery (not Austin). That’s why the cans were 2 weeks old (and not, ya know, a DAY old) on shelves.
Apparently there’s a gigantic batch almost done for the second run sitting in the bright tank at the Austin Oskar Blues brewery ready to be canned in the very near future for the next batch.
So me telling everyone last week that Jai Alai tastes “exactly like it does back home” was apparently super accurate.
Did Jai Alai hit Houston shelves too?
Guayabera. Indeed pretty decent. I have the lager in my fridge, solid go-to after work beerIt did along with their Lager and some citra IPA who's name escapes me but was decent.

Heard a rumor today that Thousand Oaks Brewing (out in the old Twisted X brewery) in Cedar Park closed.
Wouldn't surprise me. We stopped by during Bark for Beers, and everything I had ranged from bad - awful, with the exception of the porter which was okay, but astringent.Heard a rumor today that Thousand Oaks Brewing (out in the old Twisted X brewery) in Cedar Park closed.
You're the third person now who has said that to me, lol.Who?
You gonna have a car? What area of town will you be staying in?Any San Antonio area folks in here? Headed to the Final Four from March 30-April 3 and was hoping to get some brewery/bar/beer store and restaurant recommendations (TB folks always have the best recs). May also have some time to meet up at some point if anyone is interested in grabbing a beer.
Thanks in advance!
You gonna have a car?
San Antonio is really really big.
Oh well if you've got a car you're all set.Yep, will have a car. We will be staying about 20 mins away from Riverwalk, Alamo Dome etc.

I'd check out
- Freetail Brewing (they have a brewpub on the outskirts of town to the North [with great pizza] and a production brewery near Downtown)
- Weathered Souls Brewing (they're my favorite brewery in SA at the moment... they make fantastic stouts and hazy IPAs).
- Big Hop's Growler Station. Big Hops actually has 3 locations now around town so you should have one near whichever part of town you're in. They have all their menus online and prolly have the widest selection of local beers you'll find in town. http://www.bighops.com
- Beer store: Spec's. Spec's is a giant liquor store kinda like Total Wine or Binny's. There are a few around town and they'll be your best bet for local & regional beer. Certain HEB stores (Texas grocery chain) have amazing selections as well, but not living in San Antonio, I couldn't tell you which ones anymore reliably. Generally HEB Plus! (think: Super Walmart but with mostly food) stores will have the best selection.
Unfortunately they got really ****** around when Big Hops opened (the proprietor was the long time beer manager there IIRC).I used to always hit up Gabriel’s for bottles. It’s right next to Freetail Pub on 1604.

Lutter's recommendations are all good.
If you're making that long flight from the middle of the Pacific you should extend the trip and drive up to Austin for a couple days.
