So for anyone who might be around and want to grab a beer, here is my schedule:)
21-23/ Sept Austin, and zwanze at JK
24 San Antonio
25 Dallas and Rangers game
26 - 27 Seguin

Cheers

Zwanze at JK is a ticketed event. Better put your name in the lottery if you want to attend....

Best way to get from Austin to San Antonio?

35 is the best/worst/easiest for general San Antonio traffic.

I would consider heading west on 290 from JK, going to Lewis Wines (former brewer at JK is the winemaker there now) which is right off of 290 and 281, and then taking 281 down. You could stop by Real Ales in Blanco. 281 takes you to I-10 which will take you into San Antonio.

This route is further to travel, but would not have the headache of Austin traffic and would include more wine and beer...

Fastest- State Road 130. That said, it'll cost you in tolls if you've got a rental car (it's ~$12 normally without their fees). 85MPH speed limit is the highest in the state!

Most Scenic - HWY 290 (the road just off where Jester King is located) to HWY 281. Very pretty Hill Country scenery. Slowest route.

... or Interstate 35 (the main thoroughfare of the region). Which can get really hairy at times with traffic.

do you mean what road to take, or asking if their are public transit options? there are really only a few ways to go as far as roads, and highway 35 is both the easiest and the worst.
I actually meant public transit. Guess I could rent a car for 2hrs, but seems silly. Looks like 90mins on greyhound for $7.

Thanks all!

Damn grocery stores can't sell beer before noon on Sunday? I thought Oklahoma only had dumb laws like that. :D
And liquor stores are closed all day Sunday.... and have to close at 9pm every other day.

If you go outside of the big cities you run into "dry" counties as well that don't sell beer/liquor/wine at all.

At least you can buy Uncle Jacob's Stout at the grocery store though, lol.

How long is Oaktoberfest around? (I know it just came out) This stuff is so good and I want two throw up an ISO before the next seasonal comes around...

Anybody get out to Adelbert's for their Forgotten Ale release this weekend?

I've heard about 10 times this weekend that they hit it out of the park with that one. Need to get out there.

Anyone know if it's possible to get PHP kegs for private events? Getting married in Dripping in Nov and would love to have a 1/6 or 1/4 barrel of Electric Jellyfish. Can't seem to find any way to contact them (aside from FB) regarding something like this

They distribute through Brown. You should be able to special order from somewhere that sells kegs like Spec's, Party Barn, or Total Wine. Party Barn on Guadalupe was great to work with during our wedding. They'll deliver for you and hook the keg up to your kegerator if applicable.

Spindletap killed it with their Parish collab. Haze tastes better this time around too. I’m sure they learned a few tricks from Parish to keep them ahead of the NEIPA curve.

I’m glad to have a local brewery supplying juicy bangers.
The latest version of Brash Pussalia is really good. Haven't been to Spindletap in ages.

Went to the Brash 2nd Anni party yesterday. Was hoping they'd have made improvements over last year. While no secret they do stouts and IPAs, it's tough to sit around sweating knocking back huge stouts. Their hoppy beers we're all pretty much gone by 3pm. So roll out a new IPS or APA to celebrate. All their guest beers, not the VIP, we're also kicked.

Just needs a bit more planning and 1 more serving station in the parking lot.

These suggestions, while good, don't really jive with their whole "**** you" mentality

Very true. But rediculi when they're running out of beer at 3pm on an event that goes to 10. I think the had a truck deliver more kegs but we peaced out to Petrol. And there's a new joint across the street called Great Heights Brewing. Just opened. Shows some promise.

Anybody seen Coop Brewing in Austin?

I got to talking with the brewmaster at GABF and supposedly distro started here last month? I haven't seen it, but then again I haven't been looking hard.

F5 is a damn good IPA.
