Reviving this dying thread with a random question. What happened to A&R Beverage? I know they we're supposed to be temporarily shut down or something, and then I completely forgot about them. Also heard they were opening up a new place further east? I drove past their old location last night and it reminded me to ask.

Some type of landlord dispute (per their FB page) led to a permanent shutdown. I learned not to buy anything there unless I knew it had recently arrived, but that was my go-to place from when I moved out to LI 5 years ago. Mark's selection was light years ahead of any place within a reasonable distance. I think he did end up opening a new place out east (someone else can probably fill in more specifics). Hopefully, he did not bring all of that inventory with him, since it sat in a presumably uncooled store for months on end.

Yeah, it is def in NYC and Queens, but they just announced last week a deal with Clare Rose to dist them on LI, so I think they should hit soon...

I've done Morrison's and The Good Life (posting from The good life as we speak), and neither one really struck me as somewhere I'd make my "regular" stop. what area are you usually in? Try Patchouge Village if you can, HopTron, Brickyard and Bobbique. If your more west check out Roots Bistro in West Islip, head into Babylon Village from there and try Horace and Sylvias. None of these places are over the top on both food and selection...for selection I would say HopTron and for food i would say Roots hands down.

2nd the rec for bobbique out in patchogue. if you don't love what they have on tap, there are a handful of bars/breweries right there.

if you are going to be out in the area after work hours, let me know and maybe we can pop some bottles. i live a few minutes from morrison's

I would recommend Sapsuckers on Main Street in Huntington Village. They usually have some nice beers on tap along with a good menu.

Hicksville beverages just got 6 packs of Ballast Point Dorado in stock for $15.50 per 6 pack. Great deal considering 22oz bottles of the Dorado were going for $10.99 per bottle for years. Bottled on date is October 24!!!!

when and where? doubt it, but would love to go. i wonder what ghost cat is going to have...they rarely have beers around, but when they do, they always kill it. their ipa, colors, is absolutely phenomenal. had a few great sours too and they make a killer imperial brown coconut (and i hate coconut)

i have heard many things and then seen things happen that were opposite to what i had heard, so not sure where the truth lies anymore...apparently french country xmas ale got bottled, not sure if still around, i haven't checked since going for draft and grabbing some growlers for thanksgiving time. it was really good this year. AFAIK there is no BRL happening.

all signs point to something similar to this year's french country xmas ale, aka - available on tap at the publick house and a few cases of bottles just randomly getting put up for sale as well with no fan fare or anything. i think they may have posted on facebook when french country xmas ale was on tap, but they definitely never said anything about bottles, but they did bottle at least a few cases.

if i hear anything about the beer going on tap i'll let you know, but as soon as i hear it is around i'm going to beeline it out there for a taste. AFAIK, BRL is a no go as of now. i have also heard that there will be a bunch of other cool brews showing up publick house draft only in the coming months (i keep hoping that they put BRL up and make it a publick house in person thing only - it would do a lot to attract traffic there way and ends the debacle of the beer selling for hundreds after the release)

Thanks for the update! My In-laws live on the north fork, so this is a good excuse for my wife and I to come visit and make a side trip.

as always, this information is only rumors and allegations, but being that we are entering the final stretch of january and there was no announcement, it definitely would make sense.
