After reading more about the bells & whistles of it, I am really impressed, especially with the remote monitoring feature. Honestly, I spent so much money already, I might as well go all the way. So, I went ahead and bought it. I’m guessing there’s still probably more things I’ll need to buy before I’m fully up and running.

Soft opening for Eppig's new location next Friday. With it being right by Point Loma Seafoods, I'm pretty excited for a crab/shrimp combo sandwich and a couple of pints of zwickel in the near future.

After reading more about the bells & whistles of it, I am really impressed, especially with the remote monitoring feature. Honestly, I spent so much money already, I might as well go all the way. Nice! I use my thermapen all the time and wouldn't use anything else. They make an incredibly solid product. I have even accidentally dropped my termapen in my sanitizer bucket and although its not waterproof it wasn't phased.

I almost got all the ingredients for the Tyrsis Mai Tai. Only missing the Orgeat, which is coming tomorrow. Can. Not. Wait.

I tried my ghetto Mai Tai version again (cheap Orgeat, cheap Curacao, not squeezed lime juice) and it was waaaay better (not amazing, but good enough for this n00b). I must have #fuckbotched it last time I made it.

Assembled my Traeger. The hopper was dented (damaged during transport) but it seems to still work. Been watching videos of Traeger cooking with an O-face.

I got wind that Societe was brewing a barleywine with 9 hour boil that started a 4 am. So the girlfriend and I head over there to see what's going on. Except the brewery is at a different location, part of a huge multiple room building at Del Mar racetrack. I knock on the door and get let in to the brewery already smelling of boiling wort in an open kettle in the middle of the brewery and a bunch of people there bottle sharing already. After awhile the girlfriend must have gotten board and left and I end up wondering outside only to realize there is a flood of people coming through and I can't get back inside to the bottle share.
