I'm a brewery direct kind of purchaser as well. The "bottle shops" in North county are sketchy at best.

Its still one of my favorite BA stouts even now

It's pretty obnoxious the number of calls these stores receive about that crap. You're most likely getting a random employee, and they probably aren't even checking but rather telling you they aren't getting it. It's Thanksgiving week they have a million other things they can be doing.
