Marty was head brewer at Rock Bottom LJ for closer to 15 years, he won 10 GABF/WBC medals during his stint there which is pretty impressive since it is a chain brewpub. He is also former President of the SDBG, he knows what he’s doing... he has a great head brewer (Craig-formerly of New English) too.

+1 on tabula rasa.... their 2nd Anniversary (BA Scotch Ale) is solid as well.

I absolutely love Tabula Rasa. Such a great beer. Marty has been making killer porters for over a decade.

Last reminder about tomorow, still no Talk Beer conformations. Regardless of if the Brisket turns into dog food like Phischy predicts I have some delicious beers to drink.

Was hoping to make it this time, but unfortunately Sara and I are out. We would love to make it up there at some point as we always enjoy hanging out with you. Sara says you are one of the best people to talk with as you know how to have actual conversations not based around beer :)

I worked out a plan and I’ll be there!

However... these rumors of boiled brisket have me concerned golden

So is San Diego not getting any Bourbon County this year? I’ve heard zilch from the usual suspects on bottle releases or special tappings. They were absent from GABF too.

Perhaps kingg can provide more insight but from what I’ve heard SD will see a ton of regular and a little bit of coffee. Looks like the Inland Empire got the mega drop. El Cerrito Liquor in Corona got a pallet of reg and variants. So many cases of the North Woods.

I guess the people there deserve it, since they have to live in the IE.

This will my first Thanksgiving in town in years, so I'm not sure where I'll get some. No big deal - I have too much beer anyway.

Regular will be easy. Last year saw a mountain of it at Vons. Nobody else was buying it there. Asked how much we could buy & the cashier was confused at such a question.

100% would follow the same recipe again! 155 for 36 hours. Cool in Refrigerator, smoke at 220-250 for 4-6 hours until internal temp is about 215 ish.
Made a bbq sauce from the juices in the bag that was really good.
The 5 of us ate 90% of a 10 lb prime brisket so I think it was a success. I will admit it wasn't that smokey so if you have the time to do a 30 hr smoke then maybe that is the best for your life.
