Updated saying it's not Noble nor a SoCal brewery. My guess is a brewery like Mammoth Brewing. My co-worker told me they were going to move down to Bishop based on what one of the employees told him. They might be doing that and then selling the brewery turn key? I don't know.

Oddly enough I'm currently right around the corner from Mammoth and will be there tomorrow. Not surprised at all if this is the case, there has seemingly been some turmoil over there for a bit now.

Also, in for contributing to the purchase :p

Did you really send your girl to get one? She is so nice.
She was going to pick up some Abnormal's New Money cans, which aren't that great, we opened one last night, and BCLI tweeted about FO as I was on the phone w/ her there.

MT monthly IPA releases > Abnormal's flour enriched hazy IPAs.

I hope you mean OldMoney cans since there hasn't been a new can release of NewMoney since the first one. They also don't use flour. =P

Interesting story in this morning's UT about some ... questionable accounting practices by the Gwynn Foundation. Lots of quotes from Peter Zien in it, which is a little puzzling. Guessing he'll switch to no-comment mode going forward.

"lots" is actually only 2 from peter which ended up being a total of 6 sentences, most of which were him deferring comments to TAG lawyers and stating he has the utmost respect. But yes, he will likely go to the no comment mode.

Go to Black Doubt down in town across from Vons instead. They've been better than Mammoth since day 1. Cool couple too. From SD originally but have lived up in Mammoth a long time. He is (was?) a snow cat driver up on the mtn.

I am also in favor of a Mammoth purchase. They've been riding that GABF-Gold-Double-Nut-Brown Dick long enough and could use some fresh blood. With how awesome conditions have been, and being located right by the village walking distance from hundreds and hundreds of hotel rooms, its kinda a tourist trap.

Also just go to Clocktower instead. I won't lie though, Mammoth Brewing became a really fun place to hang since they moved from the industrial building on Forest Trail to the old Whiskey Creek building. That place would SLAY if they were even half as good as KRBC.

My work is giving away our old (but 100% working) fridge – if any of you reprobates want it, and can pick it up from Kearny Mesa and deal with the labor involved, send me a PM asap.

Going fishing there this weekend. Thanks for the info!

Parents own property in June Lake so spend a lot of time up this way! Agree with you that Black Doubt is putting out the best beer up here by far. Black Doubt>Mountain Rambler>June Lake Brewing>Mammoth Brew Co IMO. Mammoth's space alone is enough to get me to stop in after a day of boarding or fishing though! Do miss the old space in the warehouse, but the restaurant that took that space (Skadi) is fantastic!

Playing a round at Sierra Star tomorrow so will be at Black Doubt shortly afterwards!

#TalkMammoth was fun. Let's #TalkKern. This will be my first time. Any food recs for up there? Don't think we want to be at at the brewery 4 meals in a row. Or do I?

I went to Ewing's and had dinner....it was fun, but that was after a long Citra-filled day at KRBC. Have no memory if the food was good or not.

Went to the Cracked Egg for breakfast. Solid diner grinds.

We'll be coming in super-late tomorrow night, but I'm going to try and hit Black Doubt and JLB Saturday night. Holler if your around.

Posted in LA thread too, but:

Headed to LA (area) in mid-August with fam to visit in-laws, and thus will need much beer. Want to solicit advice for good bottle shops...and area breweries too (have been a few times, but it's been four years, so landscape has probably changed).

We miiight get a day trip or two sans kiddos (SD?), but mostly looking for suggestions very near (or places on the way in between) these locations: Anaheim (Disney for two days), Oceanside (four days) and than Fallbrook (three days, with some plans for Temecula wineries). TIA

If you are in the area, I'd suggest taking the kids to Seal Beach and then going to Beachwood BBQ. The food is good and they have a great lineup. Riip in Huntington is pretty close and they make some decent IPA's.

Anaheim area: Bottle Logic, Noble (right next to Angel Stadium if you want to catch a game), Bruery, Good Beer Company...it's not a brewery, but Hollinghead's Delicatessen has a nice lineup and bottle selection. They have funky hours so check ahead. My wife and I love the Playground in Santa Ana for a romantic dinner with great beer/wine selection.

Oceanside: Bagby, Pizza Port Carlsbad, Ironfist, Belching Beaver... I would suggest trying to make any Pizza Port location. Carlsbad and San Clemente are really cool spots and the pizza is great.

Fallbrook: Fallbrook is closer to Temecula than anything, but you can make an easy trip to Stone if you want. In Temecula I like Black Market Brewery, Wiens and Aftershock are OK, Ironfire is decent. Blackbird and Crush and Brew have a good beers as well as good food. Wineries: My wife and I love Wiens (big reds), Ponte and Palumbo (smaller). The restaurant at Ponte has great food.

I live pretty close to Anaheim and have parents/in-laws in Temecula and Fallbrook. I also have two kiddos. Hit me up if you have further questions. Have a great trip!

If you want to do a Disney meetup, lmk. DCA has surprisingly great beer, sometimes hidden in weird locations.

Is there anything worth stopping at to break up the drive? Like between riverside and Victorville? Taking the eastern route up.
