I think Cameron's post meant that he's being bought out by the other owners, not that the brewery itself is being bought out.

Yeah now that I read that post again, it looks like it's just him. Hell Toolbox would have been a good spot for him to land if they were still around.

The Lost Cause mead release was fantastic. To me it smelled rather sweet like a schramms mead but tasting it, the caramelized honey really took the over-sweetness off and all I got was a nice, lightly sweetened mead with vanilla. It had strawberries, but I was getting more dark cherry from it...likely due to the energy drink I had late in the day wrecking my palate a bit.

If you can make it up #northofthe8, I recommend stopping on in and giving it a try. Bottles were 375mL and $20 each. There was no limit this evening and a few cases left for tomorrow.

Wow I completely forgot about this release. Might have to stop by after work today and see if they have any left.

Finally made a stop at Mikkeller last night. Reality based pils was solid. SAVIOR was awesome. I asked for a four pack before seeing the price and the can art. I almost said no thanks but the beer was too good. Still feel a little dirty inside though.

Barely looked and got 5 variants (orange, rye, vanilla, wheat, & regular). Haven’t seen coffee or barleywine though I have no idea what the variants are this year and if they made those.

Curious as to your definition of barely looking is. Guessing it's way different than mine.

mjlevy23 vanilla did make it to CA

I stopped over at Mira Mesa Bevmo maybe 30min after it opened, got 2 variants. Called 3 more Bevmos and settled on visiting La Jolla Bevmo since they had 3 other variants. No lines, no hastle. Maybe 30min of my time total.

Not nearly what I envisioned. Nice haul. I stopped at bevmo here 1/2hr ago and they had two cases of regular out. I didn't ask if they had others earlier.

Heard most went to South County from guy at Mira Mesa. Then again, he also told me only 2 variants went around, which I confirmed was not true after a few phone calls. One of the Mission Valley locations had ran out quick and had had long lines. Definitely got very lucky (provided they actually taste good and don’t get infected).

They're all pasteurized now, so no worry about infection

Went to Alesmith yesterday they had cinnamon and vanilla speedway on cask, it was amazing. Went to lost cause/serpentine cider for the first time. Meads we're good all on the sweet side and ciders were awesome. They had a smoked pineapple cider that tasted like a hickory smoked pineapple, I loved every sip of it.
