I'm going to the Normal Heights location FWIW. It looks like from the roof that they have a roaster there so maybe locations will vary in quality?
That's the only place I've bought beans. They do have a roaster there but I've had batches of the same bean vastly differ in quality. For the price it's still a fantastic bean, but when I frequently have four or five different bags that I drink over a couple months, I'd like a little more longevity to my selections.

#TalkCider: is Newtopia Cyder worth going to? I could probably walk to it from my new office and it looks like they have canned cider available, including some Mosaic dry-hopped goodness?

I've really enjoyed it the few times I've been. Definitely worth stopping by if you're that close to it, IMO. They have a crowler machine but only fill a handful of what they have on draft.

Scripps Ranch eye candy makes the stop worth it. Their ciders are pretty good too. As mentioned, they do crowler some of their stuff but for their members they crowler almost everything.

What time? I'm off at noonish today and have no real plans.

I should probably give Dark Horse another chance - I ditched them a couple years ago because I was having major consistency issues with their beans, and the baristas in the cafes really didn't give a **** about the coffee they were making.

Also didn't help that their last fantastic beans fell off in literally five days to undrinkable standards.

My guess wpuld be around 3:30. About to brew a lambic. Come on over if you are up for brewing.

Pretty sure you get 5 extensions.

Fieldwork has their main spot in Berkeley. Satellites in SAC, Napa, San Mateo, Monterrey (soon) and then one other location TBD.

Also, you can't open up another production facility and get another 5 extensions for that license.

You're a braver man than I sir haha let us know how it goes. I need to brew up another sour wort. About to bottle my first golden sour on a light sprinkling of apricots.

I ain't scared. All i brew are sours.

Getting into naming conventions again. By sour wort, do you mean using acidic malt, kettle sour, or doing an initial lacto fermentation?

Highly recommend, especially if you're that close. 11/10, would bang again.

Instant sellout for Velvet. Got some, yay!

Thankfully, the order gets held in a cart for BPT sales. I accidentally copied and pasted a gigantic spreadsheet into the credit card line, which pretty much crashed the page. Being a rookie today.

Any of you Leaguers try Star Metal? Having a craving for Berliners lately and I want to know if its worth the price tag.

Wort for sour beer, not turbid mash but high mash temp then sach to bacteria ferment.
