My buddy in the League waited too long to get his order in and we missed out on Shrine of the Forsaken Gods. Anyone have a bottle they'd trade? Something from Casey?

Rumskull was good, but Rye Viet blows me away. There is a Hershey Syrup thing going on and it's delicious.

Also drank two pints of Spezial pils. Man, that's a fantastic beer.

Isn't the Pils getting canned? I sure hope so...

Is it weird that I am borderline offended that I just don't see any SD beer get on that hype train? I know it's stupid, but BA Viet / Rye Viet should be a beer that people are going after... and there's just nothing. No one cares.

There's a few Modern Times BA beers that people would lose their **** over... if they came out of some obscure midwest brewery.
Part of me thinks the beer is so good no one wants to trade it away. Can you think of a beer (of the same style) you would rather have than BAVSS/RBAVSS? I sure cant....

100% agree, both Alesmith and MT have put out a couple of god tier beers (and a lot of beers a step below god tier but still awesome) over the past couple years with minimal interest from outside of San Diego. BAVSS, BA Olde Ale '14, Barbados Rum MP w/ Coconut & Vanilla...slap another label on those and they'd be fetching a king's ransom.

Part of me is offended because I'd like to see our local breweries get their due credit for absolutely crushing it, but part of me is selfishly glad that these beers fly under the radar. I have zero interest in trading, and both I and the friends I drink with enjoy these beers, so it's nice to be able to acquire them with a minimum of hassle.

Send me all the BA/Rye VSS please and thank you

Off. I'm sensitive to the D.

I've never liked that beer. I probably have posts in here saying the same. I am also sensitive to diacetyl. I really don't think that's it though. I've been finding more and more Mosaic beers giving me that "buttery" flavor. I've basically sworn off Mosaic focussed beers. Almost every single time I think a beer I think tastes like diacetyl I check the hop profile and it has Mosaic. Dissolved Oxygen in a growler, Crowler, canning line can really bring that out too. Diacetyl is too much an amateur problem for the likes of AleSmith.

Edit: My checkin from January 2015: "Malty and a little diacytel. I do not get the hype behind this beer."
