This is really good. Nice and dry, slightly tart and funky, and great touch of sweetness that almost tastes like it has some fruit in it (lemon/apple/peach). Touch of spice and just a hint of sour at the finish (lactic? I think that's what I taste). Happy that TRVE has expanded production, will be buying lots of this.

That sounds tasty - might be a distant cousin to SARA Lady in Grey...

Only one way to know for sure - just send the Lady in Grey and I'll do a side by side, then I'll send you Grey Watcher and you do the same :D It just hit shelves, I'm hoping they keep pumping out beers for distribution.

Nice. I'll do that next time they (hopefully) release it in bottles. It's been a while and I just drank my last one...

Has anyone tried De Struise Aestatis? Just popped up in my local store. An 11% saison certainly sounds interesting.

Haven't tried it, but reviews I've seen have been unkind, with the only positive ones not making it sound like a saison...

Yeah, but I've personally found that reviews for unusual beers tend to be untrustworthy. Coffee Ruby got pretty low ratings all around and that one was great. Plus, De Struise haven't let me down yet with any of their offerings...

You are luckier than me with regard to no misses from De Struise.

Granted, I've only tried the stuff they sell in 12oz bottles — none of those crazy distilled beers or the BD series.

Green bottle, 8/10/15.

Nose is fantastic. Bit of tartness, dry, floral, grassy hops and light breadiness. Taste follows the nose with just the slightest hint of tartness. The hops are pretty prominent, showing a decent amount of bitterness on the back end, with a bit of a resinous character. Drinking really well right now and I think this one will be even better in a year or two as I just had a 2013 bottle that was the best Prince I've had.

That glass creeps me out, and now I wish I bought a case or so of Petit Prince during one of my 2014 JK visits...

Was just enjoying Le Petite Prince yesterday at JK! First time I had ever been there, it has got to be one of the most incredible breweries I've ever been to.

Looking at your picture its crazy how clear it can get, very cool.

Awesome, glad you enjoyed it! It's a pretty great place. Yeah the initial bottle pours are usually pretty clear, bottom of the bottle is pretty hazy. The last time I had it on draft there it was fantastic.

Triple post because I'm a whore. This is dry hopped with Centennial, Citra, and Simcoe hops. The mix of funk and tartness with the hops is just awesome. Smells like someone just dumped some hops in an oak barrel.

This excites me in my nether regions...

The Bolshevik Struises are pretty ****. Didn't like the blonde and the wit one either

Received this as an extra with some Side Project. Really thoughtful extra, if I do say so! Smells tart and promises of oak, but taste doesn't quite follow through. That said, if these were sitting on shelves near me I'd be buying them by the case.

They're pretty damn cheap too--like $8-9/750 I think. Anyone have experience cellaring bottles of this over a year or so?

Engine House #9 Ferme Agrume #1 - Saison brewed with Tangelos hopped with Citra.

NW Farmhouse game is on point.

Ferme Agrume series is legit. Drank #2 tonight (lemon and lime) which could have been an acidic mess but was on point - soft funk, mousse-like carb, fragrant zest, complex but crushable. Cheers for the hook-up libbey

First time trying anything from Blackberry Farms, and the classic saison delivers. Light clove and black pepper phenolics with an assertive noble hop character, light on fruity esters and a nice crisp clean bread malt character. Finishes dry and clean. Esters build as it warms. Oddly reminiscent of Odonata Saison (RIP). Good stuff!

Had a few things recently.

Batch #4 SaisonHands growler. This beer is seriously awesome now that it's done in the foudres. Tired Hands has really begun to dial it in. Can't wait to try Ourison.

Put a local saison with citra up against Table Dorothy and it held its own for sure. Smelled incredible and was crushable. Tiny bit more carbonation than I'd like in the Citra Saison when compared to Table Dorothy, but damn good.

Another one from the guys at Brew Gentlemen, and this one is drinking incredible right now. Everything I want in a brett saison.

A few hours after the 2013 Firestone Walker Invitational, I had sobered up and was about to head back to LA. As I was walking to my car in the hotel parking lot, two dudes wheeling a massive cooler asked if I could possibly give them a ride to a house party in town on my way out. I obliged.

As we were chatting on the ride over, they mentioned they were from Sacramento. I told them how bummed I was that Odonata was no more. It turned out my back seat passenger was Peter Hoey, the brewer of Odonata Saison. Really nice guy, which bummed me out even more about Odonata's fate.
