Tasting Notes
The rye, yeast and hops work very well together.
45% 3.5 lb Six Row
23% 1.75 lb American Rye Malt
23% 1.75 lb American Wheat Malt
10% .75 lb Weyermann CaraHell
mashed ~154
.75 oz Summit at 15 minutes
.25 oz Summit dry hop

Spicy and grainy American Rye dominates in the aroma and flavor with citrus hops and sweet malts balancing it in the background. Spice, bitterness and a sweet malt lingers on the tongue in the aftertaste. It's a session beer I can drink a lot of.

I don't use rice hulls. It does get a little sticky. The 6-row helps.

The late hops provide plenty of bitterness and a lot of flavor. I really like the balance of this beer.

I've never tasted the onion from Summit. It's all tangerine. I've used other hops with this but Summit worked best.

Great! Thank you. I LOVE rye, and my experience also with summit has been all citrus and not onion. I can't wait to try this one. It'll be my first "late hops only beer"!
