Nice! I can pick up some bottles for you, those wont likely last til Mon. I bet some of the kegs will still be on. How long will you be in the bus?
Will be in town for work, leaving Friday morning. Hoping to get out and explore at night again. Going to do my damnedest to see Tauk Wednesday night.

Didn't even know Tauk was playing. I live like 5 minutes from Skullys. TB Secret Santa meetup?
Done! I've got a go live that day, but I don't expect to have to work too late. I've been a huge Tauk fan for a while now, but haven't been able to see them live, so I'm pretty excited! Going to see them next month with Umphrey's in Asheville too.

I've never been to one of their releases, but am thinking about going to this one. (Wife and I went to dinner here once and thought it was fantastic. Plus my in-laws got me a gift card for here this Christmas. Good times.) Does anyone here have any experience with prior releases? Is this the kind of thing where people will be lined up when doors open, or is it likely I'll be able to casually stroll in closer to noon and still get bottles/a seat at the bar?

I've gone to both and showed up just prior to release time and was around #100. I don't remember the total though. They always had enough to do some 2nd rounds. Seating is always tough though. I'm sure this one will be more popular though.

turns out i'll be in town for this one, used to work at wolf's ridge so i've got a soft spot for them (if you've ever eaten there, the receipts in the mason jars was my idea!). if i don't care about bottles, will the taproom thin out toward the afternoon? would love to try some of the draft stuff.

Anyone have a good idea when the Hoof brewpub actually opens? Have heard dates all over the place
Per facebook on January 20:

"So super soon! Although, we've secretly been extending the opening date each time we get asked... Not really.

On a serious note, we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Not this month, but next monthish is starting to look pretty saxxy! Maybe Punxsutawney Phil will have news for us then?"

I just recently moved back to Columbus after a couple of years out west. Are there any good Ohio craft beer facebook groups? Preferably Columbus/Central Ohio but general Ohio is better than nothing. Any local beertrade groups on FB would be great too. San Diego has a very active SD Beer Friends group and a couple of good local trade groups that helped me meet new people, join bottle shares, and make some IP trades so I'd like to find something similar around here.

Welcome back!

There are a few
The Columbus Craft Beer Consortium-mostly dick swinging but some helpful hints on drafts around town and various IP trading
Ohio Beer TRades-has a people from all over the state

In general though the coolest people in town are already on this site. Grab and avatar and stay for a while.

Cool, I'll look into those. Something I liked about the SD group is it's so huge that it has everything from dick-swingers posting those .rars to people talking about Sculpin at a baseball game. You get some ****-posts but the number one rule is don't be a dick, so you get some good conversations and plenty of people who love craft beer, but aren't into it so much that they check out TB or the other site. Seemed to make things more accessible to the non-hardcore beer geeks like most of my friends and family. I'm sort of curious how this would go over around these parts.

Anyway, I'll definitely be hanging around here so the hunt begins for a supremely ****** avatar.

Has anyone here tried the Winterborn Golden Brett that Seventh Son is releasing bottles of today? Has it been on tap there?

It's been on tap before but not any more. I picked up a few bottles of it ($5.99 FYI) and cracked one last night. Very bitter and almost herbal, brett is pretty mild right now. I'm curious to see how it is a few months from now once the brett really kicks in.

I too am relocating in about a month or two to Columbus. Visited a few times and dug the city and enjoying breweries/bars I hit up. I'd certainly be up for any groups, meet-ups, whatever.
Cheers!

Are there any Cincinnati folks peeping this thread? That BA and BA Coffee Shamrock Shake Listermann is releasing bottles of tomorrow looks rather enticing.

I had the regular a few months back and I loved this beer for some reason (not usually my style). Would be interested in trying the BA version

I had the Shamrock regular at the anniversary party last weekend and it had too much artificial sweetness going on. I'm a picky ******* though. If the barrel adds some booziness then it could actually balance the whole thing out.

I was in the Dublin Anderson's on Wednesday and did not see any and the woman working the beer section did not know anything about Schramm's. She did say that they have a meeting with Cavalier this Monday, so maybe they would have some info after that.

Interesting. I'm almost positive I saw it there Tuesday but I may be over there later so I can check again.
