Great tasting as always, the staff did a great job getting beers out to around 150 people and Andrew and Steven did a great job answering questions and providing witty banter. I have to agree with Steven that I hope this is the absolute max size. As much as bringing plus 1s is nice, it did take a long time to pour that many samples and there were a lot of repeat questions. My thoughts on the beers below:
Beastmaster- Huge decadent dessert stout, but not overly sweet considering the big body. It came off drier and less sweet than Dragon mask. Big roasty flavors with coffee and mainly coconut stealing the show. As it warmed the coconut came through even more and the roastyness moved toward the more chocolatey side. Big fan.
BBA DT with BBA coffee 2016 - Next to beast master this came off very dry, the bourbon and oak character have come to the forefront from when this was fresh and it has a slightly tannic finish. The coffee character has decreased quite a bit and now comes off as more nutty and woody. Overall, this one is very barrel forward, which I enjoyed.
Wizard and Graf 2 - Quite a bit of funk with a big minerality, green apple skin and a hint of that wine-like cider character. The sourness was present but played a supporting role. The minerality gave it a bigger mouthfeel than you would expect from a beer/cider and because of that it didn't come off super dry. I really enjoyed it, funky and amphora aged beers are my jam.
Palace of Paper Sacks - A ton of fleshy nectarine character, backed up by solid acidity. It really captured the flavor of biting into an "acidic early season farmers market nectarine" as Andrew would say. At 1st when it was cold it came off a little more acidic and and then mellowed into a more floral white nectarine character. It's everything I want from a stone fruit forward beer.
Delectable mountains - Big funk upfront followed by a sharp citrus/citrus zest note. I really felt like the citrus flavor from the kumquats cut through the funk well and gave it a great balance between the fruit and funk. Again a solid body on this one but not as big as those aged in amphoras. Another example of how MT's funky beers and their sour program in general has been killing it lately.

Additional notes from me,
Andrew stated that they definitely did not have any Infinity Gauntlet sitting in Cognac barrels....
Brewer from Hawkshead in the UK was in town and was working on a collab with MT. He was brought up in front to chat about the process of where they go to do collabs and how they decide on which beer to brew. His accent was thick with a cross between new zealand, UK, and scotland....so I tried, but failed at collecting all of the details.
