Is there actually a Portland specific version or do you just prefer the new Orderville recipe where "dank" becomes "hazy"?
There is a PDX version. I think at this point, the only difference is that they're using PDX water, but it really does make a difference. Adds a slightly minerality and really makes the hop flavors pop while making the bitterness more rounded.

Edit: The group I was with tasted both versions side by side, so this isn't just my recollection of past experiences.

Interesting. Maybe we'll get a keg or two down here for some League crowler fill action...

For our neighbors to the north that aren't on FB:

Steven - "PORTLAND ANNOUNCEMENT: No opening of outside beer/wine/alcohol in the tasting room. It's our policy at all locations. Also, no opening of Mini Mart items in the tasting room; those are for off-site consumption. The League exclusive pickup bottles are also intended for off-site. On super special occasions, like a rad member's birthday party, we may make an exception to this rule, if a request is made in advance. Any bottles would still need to be opened by the staff and approved by the managers."

*except for coffee (I bought a can of cold brew and asked if it was OK to open it and they said it was)

litheum94 cold brew cans are Mini Mart items and aren't outside beer/wine/alcohol

Yo Portland! This is why we cant have nice things. Sheesh.

I stopped in two nights ago before the Pinback show and good beer was everywhere!

  • ORDER OF HERMES, SUPER BERLINER W/PINEAPPLE, PASSION FRUIT AND DRAGON FRUIT: MrsBenzo loved this.
  • WORLDTREE, MIXED FERMENTATION SOUR W/SECOND USE PEACHES: This was fantastic! I believe it was Grisette. It had nice stone fruit and crisp tartness.
  • Infinity Gauntlet, Barley Wine with Coconuts and something. Fantastic Coconut flavor.
  • BBA MP Mexican Choc, silky Mexican Chocolate. Lovely.

Just an FYI if you are picking up as a proxy (at least in LA). They have to contact Steven to check if you are listed as a proxy so dont plan on dipping right in and right out. Although I dont know why you would do that as the tap list is incredible. Gotta say the service is just as top notch in LA as it is at the SD locations. Stoked the Dojo is finally open.

This is incorrect. If you're a League/Theory members all you need to do is put the person's name in the order notes and your proxy will be all set. I'm not down for 1000 phone calls a month haha.

The situation that happened with your pickup was a mistake that the employee hit me up about immediately after and it will be resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience, but he doesn't usually do beer fulfillments and wanted to make sure he wasn't giving away Steve's beer to the wrong people.

Cheers,

Steven Michael

Ah ok! Good to know, no inconvenience at all as I was planning on staying and drinking anyway. I thought it was a bit odd that you would have to get a call every time someone picked up a proxy order hahaha. I am sure that would get a little more than annoying! Either way, service was great :).

Hey Steven, ETA on our embroidered products and tote bag?

Hey Steven, ETA on our embroidered products and tote bag?
This was on "the other site"

I'll have the digital ID done before Carnival of Caffeination so people can use them to gain access to members-only pours. Merch company got the bags in last week and are working on finishing them. I imagine those would be done by CoC as well. Members will most certainly receive an email on both topics!

Fellow League/Theory comrades, I have a few updates for all of you:

I’m still collecting some things I need for the preview tasting newsletter, but the events are fast approaching so I wanted to give people a heads up before I send the newsletter out tomorrow night. First and foremost, the preview tastings will be next week. The LA tasting will be on Monday (1/12) at The Hi-Hat again. We’ll be using that venue for the foreseeable future in LA because we don’t have space at the Dojo, and the fine folks at Highland Park let us use their awesome concert venue. The SD/PDX tastings will be on Tuesday (1/13) at their usual locations. The tastings will be at 6PM at all locations.

Digital ID cards are going to be finished at some point before Carnival of Caffeination as they’ll be used to access member-exclusive beer pours at the festival (which by the way are badass beers). Once you have that, you’ll no longer need to email me your receipts to track your tasting room purchases. Side note for 2017 League members: the rest of the League points rewards that I owe you will be in March. I got a ton of planning done this week for those rewards and got some dates locked in today. I’ll email each respective rewards tier individually in the coming weeks.

The vendor who was making our insulated bottle totes sent me a message today saying they finished the order and are going to deliver them to us as early as tomorrow but possibly next week. Once I have them in-house, we just need to send them to each respective location and they’ll be ready to pick up. I’ll be sure to shoot everyone an email when that time comes as well, but it should be pretty damn soon.

Cheers,

Steven Michael
