Shopify can most definitely handle the web traffic. The reason that we are waiting a few more months until we begin bottle sales is that our developers are working on additional functionality such as the way your cart behaves at checkout, order management, and a slew of other features that we need on the back end. We wanna make sure that we do this right the first time as opposed to having something that frustrates customers and makes life harder for our staff. Progress is most definitely being made and I'm definitely excited for when we do the switchover.

Awesome, assuming that means that the new system will "hold carts" much like BPT and EB currently do?

No specific breweries that I can think of here. Oh wait instantly one comes to mind.

Thanks for continuing to kill it. Dropping a few memberships next year and MT definitely isn't one of them.

It will indeed have a cart timer. That was a huge thing for us that led to turning down some other platforms. To my knowledge EB doesn't have a cart timer though. I've tried buying beer on there plenty on times where I had the beer in my cart and it told me that the product was sold out after I checked out. Super frustrating when that happens!

That is the fun with EB. Technically they do have a cart timer, the organizer just needs to select it as being an option. This is why you will always see the countdown timer while you are typing in payment information but why at times when you click order it goes back to being sold out. Whereas like BPT, the "hold from stock" is on automatically and cannot be turned off.

It's fun looking at the code of these sites. =) #nerdpower

Wait, so breweries are turning that feature off on purpose? Why is that even an option to turn off? That may be the dumbest thing I have ever heard TBH.

I had thought that it was mobile that didn't hold, and desktop that held.

It isn't that they are turning it off, it is that they aren't turning it on.

BottleLogic, cart timer, doesn't turn on holds
Alesmith, cart timer, turns on holds

Why even have the timer if it literally means nothing? Odd. Also why would a brewery not want to turn that on? Now I get why so many people get so frustrated with BL. I have always gotten through though so i guess I am just really quick at filling out the post cart form.

Welcome to talkbeer you brave man.
Haha I've read the forums for quite some time, but finally decided to jump in!

This is backtracking a bit, but I missed Festival of Funk because I had some family things I needed to attend to. For those of you who tried it, what was your opinion of the League exclusive keg? Red Wine BA Transit of Venus w/ Strawberry and Meyer Lemon.

That makes it seem so much worse...

"I've been hanging out at the beach for ages, read the signs about toxic runoff, and could see visible pollution and three-eyed fish, but I still decided it was a good time to go for a swim."

Save yourself while you still can... ;)

It was delicious, tasted just like strawberry lemonade and was a perfect refreshment for the warm sunny day.

Out of curiousity... generally speaking, how much are the league fills? I see standard fills listed in the $18 range and assume those are for 64oz. League fills are 32oz if I'm not mistaken. Still weighing pros and cons of a possible membership next year (if available) as I dive deeper and deeper in to the world of beer.

Not sure off the top of my head, but I never took growler fills in to consideration. It's not that huge of a perk to base your purchase on (IMO)

Agreed, but is a perk nonetheless. I do the vast majority of beer drinking at home/shares, so being able to grab stuff I otherwise wouldn't have unless it was at the brewery itself is of some value to me. Other than the bottles with the membership itself (obviously a great perk), I wonder what else would appeal to me. No discounts applied to the monthly purchases so nothing there... early access is nice but generally I'm fine with whatever makes it to public sale and tend to shy away from $30+ bottles on a regular basis anyway.

I believe they are right around $8-9.

Nanobrew is correct. They're usually $7-9.

LEAGUE UPDATE:

I was trying to get this month's preview tasting email sent out today, but there are some technical difficulties and I cannot get any support on the 4th of July. My fault for waiting until a holiday to send something out... The reason I'm sending this message is because there will be a smaller window to purchase preview tasting tickets this month.

Preview tasting tickets will go on sale tomorrow, but the big news is that we are moving tastings to Friday night going forward. This means that we will be having a tasting this Friday, the night before our Anniversary Festival.

In regards to League pre-sale for Dankness, those tickets will be going on sale starting Friday at noon.

I hope everyone has a great Independence Day!

ModernTimesSteven will the anni festival be inside or outside in the parking log? Also, I'm assuming you guys have a plan to make sure everything is flowing for the second session?
We will have stations located both inside and outside at the Fortress of Raditude, but the majority of the space will be outside. Just double checked with our events guy Derek and he said that all the listed beers will be at both sessions.

Cheers,

Oh is the event at the Fortress of Raditude, or what-the-****-ever? Didn't even realize

Damnit, I wanted you to go to the regular spot and stand outside for a bit muttering "wtf?". It would have been funny. But yeah, it is down the street at their warehouse.

Hey, to those going to the festival...do remember that part of it is going to be outside, basically the east side of the warehouse. I think Derek mentioned we would still be under a tent and everything, but that is his way of not having it too crowded inside the warehouse. So..like, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen yo.

It's going to be hot as **** too. Ugh
