I have such a love hate relationship with day jobs. ugh.
Actually, I pretty much always hate the job, until Friday at around 5. Ha!

as far as doing the actual work is concerned (i work in a factory), i like my job.
what i don't like are having to work with some of the dumb a$$es and working around some really lazy people. i also don't like working with/around the younger people that are right out of high school and think they know everything and never stop arguing about something when they may be wrong about the subject.
well, got off 3rd shift and ready for another. so i say "bottoms up"! :mug:

I have a love/hate relationship with my job.

#1) I love that I have a job. #2) I work in an industry that barely felt the effects of the current economic situation. #3) It's not a really difficult job, and the compensation is ok for now.

But I hate it as well

#1) My boss is well aware of the fact that finding another job is a scary prospect right now. #2) I watch everyone else in my office get bonuses at the end of the month that I get no part of. It's a family business, and guess what, I'm not in the family. #3) In the 4 years I've been here, I've seen 3 people get promoted right past me due to their family ties. #4) While the pay is ok for now, I'm getting married in January and plan to start a family soon. May weekly take just isn't going to cut it for long. #5) In September of next year the company is relocating to Alabama. But since I am not in the family loop, details are given to me on a need to know basis.

Overall, this job sucks. I'm constantly overlooked because of not being family. When I mention it to my bosses, they take offence to it and act like they will let me go at the drop of a hat. Very unprofessional office.

Family run offices are no place to work. i especially hate when a husband wife team work together.

Oh hell...I worked for my uncle for years and lived with him. That was hell...it probably would have worked out better if he had paid me more and I lived in my own place, but still...I left (got fired) from that place 3 times.

I can honestly say I've never once dreaded going to work. I've got every 13 year old girls dream job (dolphin trainer) and every day is exciting. It isn't all that glamorous though. Those 20 minutes that everyone sees during the show is only like 10% of our job. I'm usually spending about an hour and a half underwater per day scrubbing algae buildup and cleaning up sea lion poop from the bottom of the pool. Getting into those outdoor pools when it's single digits out and the water is 55 is an acquired taste. With that said I would never trade what I do for anything in the world. Sure the pay sucks and forever will but thats what SWMBO is for. Training animals to do these amazing things that most people don't think are possible is just really rewarding.

Holy ****e! I can't believe you work with those animals. Scrapin up crap sounds...well crap. But hey I assume you like the animals.

My job consists of dealing with people who think they are the brightest beings on the planet. I deal with high level PHD's for every major pharmaceutical company out there, day in and day out.

This job at times makes me hate people. I mean truly hate them.

I was once told by a vice president of an entire division that their 500,000 dollar instrument being down was my fault....and that I was killing kids.

I wanted to crush his throat. It turns out his high level PHD's did not grasp that the strange hissing noise was in fact a major leak that was causing all the problems.

Sometimes I wish I were allowed to pack a bat in my tools.

Most days I love my job. Practically everyday the customers cause me grief. It's finding the happy medium of the level of crap you are willing to accept, or else the level of poverty.

I am sincerely glad to have a well paying job with the way things are. I have been unemployed. It didn't sit well with SWMBO. :)

i used to work for a company that was that way--my (former) boss/owner of the company also had his wife working in the office as well. hell, in a situation like that, a couple would probably be tired of each other by the end of the day.

people always say "what would you do if you retired?"

and that is your ideal choice of employment.

soooo.. i think porn stars (male) probably have that locked down. i mean ive never heard of a straight male with a pulse who doesn't like the vag.

familys that creep in and take over a corporation piss me off. so the "acting" boss has multiple family members directly under him. that is a company that i avoid. everytime i get the short stick.

Its not my job i hate. I love the work I do, Its the rampant idiocy that surrounds me every time I step into work.

I always used to say 'Love the work, hate the job'.

Work = building cool machines, each project a little different & interesting, dealing with technical, like-minded people at various customers

Job = dealing with departments operated like backstabbing, competing companies, total *****ebags tolerated because they kissed upper management ass, sales allowed to promise/sell anything they wanted and then blame engineering for being the voice of reason, etc.

So of course I left, and went somewhere the Job was ok but the Work was 'meh'. And believe it or not, I just went back to 'Love the Work' because they asked really really nice and the last two years knocked some sense into the place. Oh and they fired all the total *****ebags. :ban:

My job is playing music, and you know what, I really don't like it as much as people think I do. Playing live is great but other than that it's all a big pain in the ass. All the hard earned cash usually goes right back into the band. Hours of painstaking practice for a few moments of glory and a drunken floozy at the bar willing to do just about anything you want.

It was pretty cool when I was younger but now it's a downward spiral into empty pockets and wishing for a record deal that pays me more than $500 for a sign on bonus.

the one person that i work with that comes to mind when i discribe this kind of person just got sent out the door this morning on two weeks unpaid leave as disaplinary action!! :rockin: he had what was coming to him and he deserves it! he is all that i don't like about a person to work around-- always arguing with everybody (including the boss), lazy, playing around on his cell phone when he should be working, being late to work (sometimes as much as 4 hours- yes, i said 4 hours late!). he has a big target on his back and he's just digging himself a big hole every day and someday he'll find himself fired.

like i said, he deserve it! :D :mug:
