Hey all,

Here's the goal: I want a dual temperature fermentation chamber. In other words, I want to be able to set one part of the chamber to be lager temp (33-55ish) and set the other to be ale temp (50-80ish).

I looked at this thread: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/side-side-kegerator-fermentation-chamber-161176/

But I don't think my older side-by-side will work with Forbein's plan... More on that below..

So here's what I have: an 80s (maybe 70s even) GE model with NO wiring diagram. :/

Here's the guts:

Here's the wires and knob which controls freezer temp:

Here's the mechanical (non electrical) device that regulates fridge temperature:

When you turn the plastic wheel on top (it's barely visible, but you can see if if you look closely), it allows more air to flow from the freezer into the refrigerator.

so, what do you think is the best way to accomplish my goal?

Here's my best idea:
-Knock out the wall between the two chambers.
-wire in a Love TS 2100 (I have some basic knowledge of electronics, but without a wiring diagram, I'm concerned...)
-The love temp control will allow the whole fridge to be set any where between 33 and 60 degrees (the coldest it gets where in Los Angeles is 50 at night)
-build a chamber within the fridge with wood and insulation.
-Install an electrical heater inside that chamber so it can get to the warmer temps. (this would be my ale chamber, the rest of the fridge would be my lager chamber.)
-Voila! two seperated, controllable temperature environments.

What are your thoughts on this build? Do I need two loves? or can I get away with just one dual TS-2100 controller?

Thanks for the advice!
