Just saw this thread existed.

Talk/hype all your barrel aged adjunct stuff you want (and hey, b-bomb is a plenty good regional substitute for those diminishing returns chasing the more well known -bals) . . .

But you know what I really love about Fremont Brewing?

Drinking those super simple, SMASH Fremont summer ale cans in the pool. So damn good.

Dem Fremont bals are the truth

Oh they are. But pretty much every part of the country has -bals that are truth nowadays ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But a phenomenal SMASH in a can? That seems much more sparse in terms of substitute goods, hence my deep appreciation for Fremont Summer Ale.
Agreed, but BBomb has a pretty amazing barrel flavor going for it. Seamless

I had to look up SMASH. Single Malt, Single Hop. I agree, awesome combo. TG makes a few.

Opened a 14 Bbomb this weekend. Is it just me or are they drinking better fresh than 12 and 13 were? Those two were at their best at about the year mark iirc and I was expecting the same with this year's- but honestly I'm not sure it could get much better integrated than it already is. Thoughts?

Anyone know what Fremonts 1st Nail and Rusty Nail would trade for? Does anyone even know about them? They were the cinnamom stouts made for PineBox in Seattle.

Rusty Nail is pretty difficult to find. Only the single Heaven Hill barrel was made.

1st Nail has been made twice now and is a little easier to land.

Are you looking to trade yours?

I have 1, 1st Nail and 2 Rusty Nails... probably going to keep them... unless a good trade comes about.

Any offers?

I stocked up a bit on the 1st Nails, but I'm telling you from experience here, get into those Rusty's. Bring em to a tasting, share with friends, or just drink one tomorrow night to celebrate another day of being alive, because they are definitely fading and that beer deserves to be drank before it's completely gone.

If you're looking to trade one let me know (or libbey since he did ask first)

Finally had a chance to get into a Coffee Cinnamon B-Bomb and I'm impressed. This beer is amazing. Sweet dark chocolate, that zing of cinnamon, and a little coffee which is subtle. I like the coffee being in the background and not adding to the bitterness.

If there's one word that describes Fremont's big barrel aged beers, which also fits this one perfectly, it's balanced. The base beer, bourbon, cinnamon, and coffee components of this beer fit together incredibly.

B-Bomb is a tough beer to top. This version tops it for me.

I just heard back from them. Was thinking it was a reserve society, but having re-read it a few times (It's midnight, I'm drunk) I think it's an event where you get to try 12 rare beers and a bbomb vert, and then take home an event only exclusive beer for $85. If there's more to it than that it's not in the email. Or I missed it.

The Heron Hunting Club is a long-standing, but shadowy tasting society of the finest and most rugged individuals. Members of the Heron Hunting Club must solemnly swear to devote themselves to the pursuit of the finest beers that ever were, to seek knowledge wherever it may be found, to use dispassionate logic and reason in the search for beer enlightenment, and to join fellow devotees as brothers and sisters to protect, serve, and uphold the principles of this society so long as it shall be.

Those granted membership will be initiated at Fremont Brewery on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 from 6-9pm. The evening will consist of twelve esoteric Fremont brews that rarely see the light of day and a few that never have, hearty delicacies formulated by the legendary Ethan Stowell, and a guided Bourbon Abominable vertical tasting led by Fremont Brewing’s highest ranking officials. Members will leave this sacred gathering not only having transcended the earthly bounds of taste, but also in possession of a members-only, hand-blended, aged beer pried from the depths of the Fremont cellars.

If you deem yourself worthy enough to join the illustrious ranks of the Heron Hunting Club, please meet us at the Fremont Troll on Thursday, January 22nd at 9pm to enroll.

Membership is $85 and limited to 75 people.

We look forward to taking you on a journey beyond the velvet curtain to reveal the dignified, hitherto undiscovered world that is The Heron Hunting Club.

I think it is a reserve society and that party is the "initiation" party.
