I have to step away from some places that make me crazy; yes, perhaps sorta kinda self induced. I wanna try to do Masstoberfest but I'm not sure my beer is good enough. And now I've gotten a place in RI, and I'm not worried about hurricanes, I'm not worried about finding good BBQ, I'm not worried about the danged kitchen renno I have to do now, I'm not worried about seemingly being the only person living in the immediate surroundings that aren't students or snowbirds.

I'm worried about...

The water. For brewing.

Makes me think of its one of those "What about X brewery?" articles.

I hope Vitamin Sea does their Boston pop again this year. They did open their 2nd place in Plymouth which is amazing. Maybe Boston won't happen

Plus. What about LongLive?

Boy have we come a long way.

Just saw a new brewery is opening way out in Bearnardston. Incandescent Brewery. Gonna have to check them out as that's a nice little golf trip I take to that area. There's a nice little circle of breweries in that area from Turners Falls. Don't even have to go to Deerfield to hit Treehouse.

@Hoppy2bmerry , I thought EVERYONE did this.

No?

Usually we do this, but the reaper taking signs down is a great touch. Unless it’s a fundraiser for cancer research or some other medical malady.

So, elderly Massholes are able to fish both fresh and saltwater and the licenses in theory cost $0.00.

Except they don't, because one actually still has to obtain the licenses each year, and even though they are now strictly electronic, there are "shipping and handling" and "convenience" fees involved, that amount to $2.96

Umm...Ok? 🤷‍♂️

I'm kinda serious about my fishing. I have a collection of fly rods for every need and venue, mostly Winstons with a Sage and couple of GLoomis mixed in, and well matched upscale reels from the UK and US, all acquired over ~six decades. And as I check tonight the rod replacement costs are generally well over a grand each, never mind the reels (woof!). No way am I gonna mess around with phony licensing, whether for the ersatz "free" MA or the nigh confiscatorial non-resident NH and ME licenses, and risk losing a rod and reel or many, and one of my canoes or my boat and trailer in the offing.

I just buy the three state licenses every year and hope it does some good for the fisheries. I may kvetch a bit but that's what old folks do anyway

Cheers!

Juuuust joking.

Have you checked out the 'new' and easy to use Maine online fishing resource? I will say it now 'works' as well and confusing as the old way. I teeter on the northern regions where things get hairy in the off seasons.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to change up my plans this year and hit the Lamoille. Haven't been there in decades.

This all due to beer :) I've been following Wunderkammer for years and decided to get a membership. Probably will hit my fav brewery Hill Farmstead too.

Now the big question is do I stay in Littleton/Schilling? Or Stowe?

In all seriousness I try to support the environmental agencies and farms assoc as much as possible. I thought the MA license was only needed for fresh water. That's how much I'm out of the loop in not paying from the younger days.

And frankly, it also helps to realize that the original typing, that the drunk elf is trying to autocorrect, is oftentimes being typed by inebriated fingers.

Leaving Woods Hole, heading home after getting nuked on a machine on the cape, my commute for the last 40 friggin weekdays, happily ended last Friday. Kind of messed with my schedule, let alone my innards.

The place looks kind of pretty from the boat, but it is a real isht show in the SSA lot, the new terminal construction has been going on for years, and will likely go on forever, since it is apparently good for the bond holders, whoever they are. And don't think of heading over to the island with car without a boat reservation. I wouldn't advise it anyway, as it really does not have anything to offer that is not on the cape, but is a lot more expensive and crowded.

Made a batch of Vienna Pils yesterday, first batch in 5 weeks, which is a record brewing hiatus for me in the last few years.

Did they have a bell for you to ring? I’ve read eating blueberries helps provide nutrients to help a body, which can naturally repair radiation damage, do a better/quicker job of it.

Be well.

No bell, but the gals that run the machine gave me a little "graduation certificate" , that crew did a good job in shepherding patients though the facility, with compassion, yet a high rate of speed. I'll pick up some blueberries next time I go to store, if they have any.

Yesterday’s “weather” rolled through my part of MA like an angry badger. Lots of chainsaw sounds today. How’s everyone else doin’?

Aside from a lightning strike next door it was a whole lot of wind and noise but no evident carnage. Lights didn't even flicker (which amazed the heck out of me!)
