I feel like Lost Abbey's whales (Izzy, Yellow Bus, even DDG) would probably not be has vaunted if they had come out today given how much other breweries have caught up since. There just weren't many breweries doing sours in 08/09 compared to now. Of course I say that never having tried Izzy, Yellow Bus, old Veritas.

Speaking of Crooked Stave, are they still a thing? Or are they still just picking random fruits and charging $15+ per 375mL?

I only bother with L'Brett D'or these days. That beer is worth the price of admission every time.
