Well that makes me sad, they couldn't give us more than 30 minutes notice? I didn't have time to check my personal email and then its sold out, I'm on the entitlement train and whambulance, I get it, but I was really hoping to buy more bottles since this is our last chance. Sucks.
They had sent a couple emails about the deadlines and when the 2nd round would be up. It sucks that you missed the 2nd on sale, but at least you hopefully maxed the first round. Many people got completely shut out of nightcap because of their ****** communication about how much would be available and for how long.

Truth, I did max out first time. I'm just a little butthurt in general that the society is going away and wish I would have gotten more bottles of these. Oh well, life goes on. Luckily after over an hour of trying I was able to get into the Rare Barrel Society today.

I'm curious, if I were a CO resident, would I continue to pony up 15$ per bottle [That is the going rate for non-members today, right?] given there is no longer a reserve society and therefore no longer a 15% discount on all CS bottles. There aren't many 375ml bottles I'm happy to pay 12.75 for, and there are even fewer that interest me at the $15 mark. Part of the reason I was willing to pay $12.75 for CS RS bottles was the convenience of ordering bottles online quickly and easily. If you tack on time spent tracking bottles down, traveling from store to store, etc., I doubt I'd be willing to spend $15 per 375ml.

I don't know. With this year's membership price hike to $350 + tax (it was a flat $300 in 2013), plus an increase in the cost of each individual bottle, it's surprising to learn that Chad & Co. still don't find the RS to be worth the hassle. More and more breweries are offering member's only clubs so it's certainly seems a strange time for Crooked Stave to dissolve theirs.

It was a good two years...

But with a case limit right at the brewery (at least the next one) people shouldn't have to run store to store tracking it down. Hoping the lifetime membership has the benefit of the discount ;)

Rumors are the "lifetime membership" deal will be some sort of lifetime discount. However, that's a fairly worthless perk since most people around here have AHA memberships which give an equivalent discount. Maybe crooked stave will drop that discount and screw over those folks.

Guess it will depend on the discount. AHA members are only 10%

I was curious what the lifetime membership would entail. I hadn't seen any details.

My theory is that they assume a certain percentage don't max out their allocations (this is probably fairly consistent over the majority of the releases). However when they announced this was the last year, I bet some people realized this was the last time they would be able to guarantee themselves some Crooked Stave so people that wouldn't usually max out did and it threw off their prediction. Just a theory though.

Well but I would think that could be the whole point of the 2nd round of sales...You allocate the 1st round to match up bottles available & members, then those bottles that didn't get maxed out plus any extra production/yield and there you have your 2nd round pool of bottles...instead some members buy 6 additional, others get 0
Certainly doesn't matter at this point!

Tried to purchase Nightcap late yesterday afternoon (As i was guaranteed until 9/30 at 10:00am to order any additional bottles)..None available. Emailed (Got auto-reply), and then posted to FB and called. No answer.

CS Employee's were able to get a case, but cellar reserve members not able to purchase any additional, even though we're told we have until 9/30/2014 to do so. Cool. Really appreciate growler that we can't fill also. Really cool of you to do.

2014 Benefits:
-Right of first refusal to 2015 Cellar Reserve.

Crooked Stave..always putting the customer first.

that first part is nonsensical so i can't really respond. i'll skip to the second part.

then leave the cellar reserve thread so the cellar reserve members can talk about cellar reserve things in peace.

but i'm enjoying watching him edit his post multiple times to add funny little tidbits to mask his initial It's Just Beer Bro hurt feelings. at the rate of one addition a minute in a few hours who knows where we'll be

Just let it go.

He didn't get enough attention in this thread or this thread, so he's trying to make up for it in here.

Highly doubtful. Remember, this is the brewery that built their brew house on an unprepared floor and gave members growlers that can't be filled with any of their beers. It seems planning more than a couple weeks ahead is difficult for the crooked stave crew.
again with the floor comments? those were pretty much debunked on BA. So you continuing to just throw out complete ******** in order to talk **** about the brewery is really getting comical.

Man...the amount of entitlement and butthurt in this thread is really comical. Given the fact that IT'S JUST BEER, PEOPLE.

Maybe all of the whining and complaining and calling and emailing and everything else got old. Maybe (some of) YOU GUYS are part of the problem.

WORD.
/END OF THREAD!
