So...when a noise/sludge/experimental/whatever band releases an album with black on black print and the album title is a line from Virginia Woolf's suicide note, you know what you're getting into but....****, that was an intense album. Don't know how to follow that one up, but since I don't want to waste a day of empty house and beer and records I'll go with another album which has suicide as the topic of it's most popular song, though it is much more upbeat about it. Beer is the same beer as prior pic, this time in a glass....too busy listening to album to remember to drink.

And yes, I'm aware that he has spent the past decade or two being a conspiracy theory peddling nutjob, but what can I say, I grew up in the 90s and these guys, Nirvana, NIN, Sublime and the like were pretty big influences on me and where my musical tastes ended up.

Next up: never had this beer before, but I figured I'd continue the theme of "big beers made with honey". Spoiler: this theme will not continue onto my next post. As for the album, I've been itching to put this on all week after I almost used their first album as my pick for this week's great music thread.

Not sure why I thought the album inspired by Anne Frank and the Holocaust would be a nice break from all the suicide themed music but...here we are. I think I've got it right this time. You guys remember the time Devo decided to be a surf rock band and release an album? I do. Beer is....something from Night Shift that I should have had probably almost/more than a year ago. I don't remember if this was a birthday or going away present, but it's a shortfill//misc of something or other. Wish me luck.

So this is probably my last one for this session. As much of a degenerate as I may be, its about quarter past eleven and this will run me another two hours...even I need to sleep/pass out at some point. Drinking another Night Shift, last one was most likely a lavender saison that actually held up pretty well. This one seems pretty promising. I've had some issues with gushing when it comes to some of their wilds/sours but this is about 18 months old and no sign of trouble.

As for the album....like I said earlier, for better or worse, these guys had more of an impact on me than any other band. Some of my best (and worst) memories are inexorably tied to songs from this album. Plus, this is still one of my favorite songs to come out of the decade:

This made me smile,as this is for sure darker than E6. And, also one of my favorites by them. But, honestly I would have had to go german lager with it.

Would love to know what other GenocideOrgan Lp's you got? Not familiar with that Con-Dom album, I'll have to give it a listen as I know the split with Grey Wolves best.

Not sure why Coldstorage can't responnd. Find someone else also into obscure industrial noise, especially on a bourgeois beer hyper-real forum= No response.

If I knew how to gif.. I would.

I've got the house to myself, a fridge full of beer and a couple hundred records....guess I should get started. Kicking today off with the latest from The Body. At this point these guys might be my favorite band still in existence.

I went to a house show once hoping to see Mammoth Grinder and instead ended up watching some odd two piece. I still remember the stench of BO from all the crusties (I think I saw my first butt flap there), and the “guitar player” playing a barritone through a bass stack that I’m pretty sure was turned all the way up. Also, there was no mike for the vocals, just yelling. Their recordings have never topped that night for me.

Sorry Pal I missed the quote the first time around.
First presses of everything basically, and some of the reissues that have dropped in the last couple years although I’m not a huge fan of the loud propergol remastering. I didn’t buy any of the archive 10”s because I missed the first two and was like “what’s the point”. I don’t have the acetates or the tapes and my “klan kountry” ep is not the special edition.

I also have an incredibly rare shirt I can post pics of when I’m home but I’m on a business trip for the week.

Pretty funny watching people trip over themselves about the “once in a lifetime” GO shows next month in CA when I have already seen both GO and Anenzaphalia on US soil back in 2002. People really didn’t think much of GO back then but you know... tastes change.

First post in a minute. Mostly because I'm too incompetent to figure out how to post pics from my phone without forwarding pics to my laptop. Hopefully I'll get it together over the summer. This is the last day of my first year teaching preschool. I'm hoping to erase a lot of my memories in the next few months :D
Album is Black Sabbath--Never Say Die. Got hip to Sabbath (at least the first 8 with Ozzy) over February. That is a really fun catalog. Beer is Decadent - Citra Citra Citra. It's kinda gross but everything is alright at the moment. Thread shitting and a bday post to follow.
