Finally repressed. Thought long and hard about paying 100+ on this **** for a long time.

Patience.

Ha! Just bought this online from Amoeba! A buddy recently turned me onto this dude.

Possibly the most long overdue addition to the collection.
Thanks to a shopping mall.

**** off.

Sticker on cellophane promised a 24 page booklet on a DK retrospective.

Said 24 page booklet was nowhere to be found.

**** off, DK. typical.

Now I miss Newbury Comic's pricing from ten years ago :(

Thanks quirk6 for the beer!

I've been trying to hunt down a copy of this for months but I never felt like paying the $70+ price tag they seem to go for on discogs. Stopped at a local used record store today and they randomly had a copy stashed into the new wave/punk section for $15. Pretty happy about this one!

The best feeling.

Fine. Not the best best, but pretty far up there on the list. I swear I must creep people out with all the ear to ear grinning I pull off when record shopping.

Apologies in advance for no beer or vinyl... but, any recommendations for cleaning old vinyl? Some of the records I’ve acquired are pretty filthy (fingerprints seem to be the biggest culprit). I’ve got a brush I already use to knock the dust off, but obviously does nothing for the fingerprints.

Has anybody gotten a record that didn't quite fit their turntable? I have one that fits so snuggly the platter won't spin. I have anther that rubs occasionally as it spins which slows down the platter creating a warble as it plays.

These go on sale every now and then. I snagged the 40th anniversary edition for like $50 last year. It's not as thorough as an okki nokki but for the money it's really solid. It's tedious but I spent a few weeks going through my whole collection of 500+ and after every batch I did the trough was filled with dirt and bits and the water was always brown. I just lay out bath towels and do batches of 25 or so but I've seen people use dish drying racks which seems better for drying.

Like around the spindle? I've noticed a lot of new cheap pressings are snug with excess vinyl and if I can't force it on I'll use a file to lightly smooth it out.

I use something like this. It is a spray that you put on the record and wipe it off with a micro-fiber cloth. It works really well for doing individuals records. Look in your local shops, they probably have something much cheaper than this, but it gives you the idea.

I have one of these as well and agree that it's a good options for cleaning. Good call on the towels - I've always used a dish rack myself but those can only hold 10-15 so you can't do a ton in one sitting.
