Spinning records with the wife.

Cheers

Whenever I run into my old neighbor around town the first thing he will without fail bring up is how there's no good DIY hardcore/whatever anymore. THE SCENE IS DEAD. I have no clue why all these DIY thrashy and primitive loaf eye albums coming out overseas don't count. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This bottle was jammy as ****.

Tim Barry Rivanna Junction - Off Color coffee saison
Just finally getting into Avail. This album makes me want to start hanging around in train yards. This beer reminds me of expensive bags of coffee beans sourced from Ethiopia.

Ive listened to more Avail since the reunion announcement than I did altogether in the last 5 years.

I had a really really hard time with Tim Barry's solo stuff. But AVAIL? Definitely my ****.

Define: stupid, within this context.
It is my last bottle and I do not know when I will have a chance to get it again. It is a really good beer that, while not quite perfect, lives up to the hype and I resent it for its lack of presence in my fridge.

Seriously though, **** is good. Reminds me of the first time I tried Parabola in terms of making me reevaluate how a well crafted beer of this style can and should taste.

Faun Fables - Born of the Sun. Faun Fables is a project of Dawn McCarthy, but all but the very early stuff is a collaborative effort with Nyls Frykdahl of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Idiot Flesh, Free Salamander Exhibit, etc. This is very different from his work with them, but it's still good in its own right. Beer is the same except I've added some whiskey to it since we're out of scotch.

I haven’t regularly purchased records in a few years but made the trip to Rooky Ricado’s in SF a few weeks back (inspo from this thread). Bought some things via recommendation of the shop owner and about an hour spent at the listening station. Rance Allen is a soulful mf.

Miles’ Agharta. Coke and hooker Miles. Ailing Miles. This was part of the last recording before a 5 year hiatus. Upon his return in the 80s he was sober and boring. Did Cyndi Lauper covers. Miles’ mid 70s band was the most frightening group in jazz and rock history, while not being part of either.
