Anyone have a Uturn Orbit deck? Holy hell man, my neighbor got one and I went over to give it a listen and immediately bought one for my back room. I have a VPI (******* currently out for service grrr) with a AT 120 back up that is usually my kiddos. So I wasn’t really looking for a new deck but Jesus after listening to one of those and seeing the cost I had to get one. Not a huge fan of the belt switch for 33/45 listening but besides that seems like a great unit.

Anyone have a Uturn Orbit deck? Holy hell man, my neighbor got one and I went over to give it a listen and immediately bought one for my back room. I have a VPI (******* currently out for service grrr) with a AT 120 back up that is usually my kiddos. So I wasn’t really looking for a new deck but Jesus after listening to one of those and seeing the cost I had to get one. Not a huge fan of the belt switch for 33/45 listening but besides that seems like a great unit.

If I had to buy a brand new table that would be the one. I priced them out a few times before going the vintage route.

Hopefully the last spin of the evening...and one of a few I snagged on RSD. Honestly didn’t even know it was on the list to be released and has been a long time vinyl want so got that creepy record store smirk smile when I flipped to it in the bin. Just another of those perfect record find moments that bring you instant joy.

This for me epitomized indie hip hop from this era. This album is a classic. Funk sample heavy...appearances from the rest of the quannum crew plus J5. I guess I dug Bay Area hip hop a good bit.

This is like, the most polarizing chunk of gear I can ever recall in the history of home stereo. I have a friend from Texas who has offered to fly out and fight me if I bring "that piece of trash" into my home. On the other hand, this richer than god partner at my firm who has actual hifi gear from when they actually made hifi gear talks about his like it's the second coming. People seem to be really excited or really offended.

I have yet to even see one in the wild but my two cents is... if it cuts any corners in any capacity i'd just go for the real deal Rega. Those " a few times in a lifetime purchase" are the ones where I ignore marginal economic benefit and just reach for the stars and take care of the damn thing. But I won't rule this out without some testing.

Respect. Pretty sure in my house id come home to divorce papers impaled on the spindle, slowly rotating at 33 rpms....

The first part of your post is actually why I bought my VPI prime signature and almost did get those divorce papers (That said I’ve now had to send the ******* thing in twice for issues. They are great at taking care of things but slower than absolute ****)

Legit title for this record. So few can tug at the heartstrings like Tom Waits when on his game.

RSD pickup. Although surely to maximize profits, I kinda dig that they busted these out into separate “releases”. Cause I genuinely feel each collection of songs makes sense individually.
