Thoughts? Listening now (for the 500th time). I obviously have very significant opinions about this record but would love to hear from someone that hasnt had this niche of their interests groomed and influenced by kozelek over the years. If that transition from last tide to floating doesn’t engage you, I guess it’s probably not for you. Also his “garage” chops (for lack of a better term) on lily and parrots...geezus. So weird and awesome.-

I'm glad you followed up! I've really enjoyed the record so far. I was listening to that Perils from the Sea album (which I looked up due to the Album Leaf connection) completely unaware of Kozelek's music and a buddy recognized it and played me some of his stuff, which is how I ended up w Ghosts... I'm a huge fan of certain Palace Music and Smog albums so I think think this was a natural fit. What other albums of his are worth checking out?

He did a record that consisted entirely of Modest Mouse covers (pre-radio Modest Mouse, if you care). If you know the Modest Mouse discography, it's a really great listen because his takes on those songs are just crazy different, in a great way IMO, after molded to his style. It's called Tiny Cities. After that, I'd say Admiral Fell Promises and April are the other two albums I listen to most often. I kind of lost track of him after that and his records are so damn expensive and never available used, so haven't heard a heck of a lot over the last 10 years or so. Glad you're digging him though.

Saw these guys in a little bar once and while I think they were disappointed with the turn out I had a great time. Couldn't of been more than a dozen people.

I saw them in a little tiny spot after Feathers came out and had never heard of them. Was there to see Jennifer Gentle. Dead Meadow completely stole the show and went on to become one of my fave bands for the next few years as I dug through their back catalog. Turnout for that show was more like 50, but still relatively small.

So I never used to be a big Modest Mouse fan. However, I recently realized that over the years I'd acquired several of their albums which I really loved. Time and place kinda albums. My introduction to them was that Ocean Breaths Salty music video so that may be why. Listening to Tiny Cities now and enjoying it. Checking out Admiral Fell Promises next.

Pastor T. L. Barrett And The Youth For Christ Choir ‎– Like A Ship... (Without A Sail)
Heard this on this on a playlist and immediately had to look it up. While I'm not too familiar with this style of music, it's just a really great upbeat album. Kind of a gospel choir kind of thing. Highly recommended either way.

Latest batch of Fantome Saison to hit shelves in my area. Lots of clean yeast esters and phenols, peppery spice and orange peel. Drinking great right out of the gate.

Haha I can even retort with same machine assuming that’s a 120. And the beer may be mead. Or cider.

I’ve been playing the hell out of my 120 lately as the VPI is having balance issues and I had to send it away for service. Which ******* sucks but at least it’s covered under warranty. ******* thing went whacky on me.
