Wife is out, kids are still up, and the stereo is loud.

Ooogie AND Bad Brains!??! **** yeah.

I have a committee release bottle of Grooves that I can't bring myself to open, but I hear it's Uigeadail on steroids..."Grooves" = obviously a reference to music/records

Oh the way we wrap it is wrong x2

**** all of that plastic (**** all of that plastic)
Wrapped up in my dinner (Wrapped up in my dinner)
It's not fantastic (It's not fantastic)
It's gonna come and kill us (It's gonna come and kill us)
It's gonna be massive (It's gonna be massive)
It's gonna be brutal (It's gonna be brutal)
Death will come from plastic (Death will come from plastic)
Death will come from people (Death will come from people)

Oh the way we wrap it is wrong x2

**** all of those plastic
Particles in the ocean
It's like a vendetta
Against our Mother Nature

The way we wrap it
The way we wrap it is wrong
We wrap it
Plastic boogie
We wrap it
The way we wrap it
The way we wrap it
Plastic boogie
Plastic boogie
The way we wrap it
The way we wrap it is wrong
We wrap it
Plastic boogie
We wrap it
The way we wrap it
The way we wrap it
Plastic boogie x4

Oh the way we wrap it is wrong x2

**** all of that plastic x8

Dust, from your skin must … trust
When it scatters ...only love matters, it’s been overjoyed
Scents and perfumes wince … since
Your higher fragrance is memory incense and never destroyed
Every stop we’ve taken is now a wondrous shrine
When nature is in order, your senses sensing mine
As I love you … all the creatures play
As I love you … now it’s safe to say
There’s no hang-up in our way
The trees in our gaze will show us the love that we bring them
This shouldn’t amaze, they openly love all they are, and love’s all they are
Gifts to begin, lifts … cliffs of expression
They soothe our impression and every whim
Taste past our thirst faced … waste beyond uses
With so many juices we’re filled to the brim
Our pleasure’s not forsaken, we cultivate our bend
More…

That Roky album is really underrated. It doesn't have the horror vibe to it, but I love it.

Roky never had a horror vibe for me. He is/was a pop artist (self admitted Buddy Holly junkie - check out his vocal stylings in "Starry Eyes" for example) who wrote about horror images. Mis-classified his entire career.

Listening again. So good. Cannot believe I'm about to this say this....

No I can't...

Yes, gotta do it...

Do I hear shades of The King of Soul at play here? Those vocals on Long Way Home are soul stirring.
I get shades of Otis and Sam. It’s inspired stuff obviously.

I’ve been digging deeper into the whole Colmine Records catalog and finding some great stuff. Known for their 45s but starting to produce some full length stuff.

One of my favorite currently touring bands is The Monophonics and their lead singer just put out a solo album and it’s fantastic. It dropped last week and I haven’t picked it up yet but will as soon as I see it.

Kelly Finnigan

Still a sucker for some old school WnB

What better to pair with that classic beer than this classic pop record.

(knew I'd get a FlatStrauss like outta this post, but it happened so fast I could edit this in. It's like he has a ******* Shellac alert system.)

Liked for the Shellac, then unliked because you're a degenerate troll.
