I do ******* mostly hate picture discs...unless I'm fanboying out about something...or my kids are geeked about some overpriced ******* marvel **** (cause I'll pay any price for my kids to ask me to drop the needle, srs, it's my weakness).

I don't know man, everything is exponentially condensed and cheapened any more...but I still I need this.

Maybe I'm "the different audience", lol.

You gonna get them the Liquid Swords Marvel edition that is coming out in a week and a half?

And on that note, and to tie into RSD, in 2013 there was a 4 LP chess box version of Liquid Swords as part of RSD, this is the type of thing I could get excited about, or 2014 when The Dresden Dolls s/t was put on vinyl for the first time. Problem is, especially with that Liquid Swords example, it was such a short run and things are so hyped these days that I'd have to get there stupid early to have even a shot. I was talking to the owner of the shop I grab my stuff at and he said that a few people get there...who knows how early, are always first in line and the chances of getting one of the more desirable albums is almost nil. I'd rather just not take part and if there is something I absolutely must have I'll just bite the bullet and get it via the secondary market.

Honestly, I think a big part of me being so disinterested in RSD is this year is the first time in 10 years that I've been somewhat staying on top of new albums coming out. I'd rather track down the four remaining albums from this year that I want but haven't been able to get my hands on yet instead of some color variant of albums that have been around for decades from bands that may or may not still exist.

Didn't go out to the store but snagged a few things on ebay for cheap. Borns Live album, Wombats EP, and the Dead Kennedys session thing. These "events" keep getting less and less interesting every year, I usually only find 2-3 things I sort of want for RSD or Black friday.
They play a Borns songs on work radio (Electric Love). I was shocked to discover that it's a man singing, just doesn't sound like it at all to me. Dig the song, though.

Can anyone shed some light on the repressings at 33rpm? Brian Eno is rereleasing a bunch of his early ambient stuff and the 2xLP at 33rpm aren't that much more expensive, but enough so that I would question whether they are worth it. I don't have any sort of crazy hi-fi system, and I'm skeptical whether I will reap the benefits. My friend has a 2xLP at 33rpm pressing of Another Green World and I have a regular 45rpm of the same album, and I've been meaning to bring mine over to his place, but I've never noticed a difference that went past our sound systems.

Not looking to collect for rarity. I just buy them to listen to them.

Oh if this is turning into purely talkvinyl I am going to post in here a lot more. I cleaned house at the antique mall my grandma has a booth at over the weekend. After having some remorse over not buying the half off Randy Newman box set during the Nonesuch sale I bought a classic album (I would have to look at which one), a mint copy of Stranger in Town, and Joe Cocker’s With A Little Help from My Friends.

Also came home to Hanson’s Snowed In on vinyl which I may or may not have accused fear025 of purposely not having someone get it for me for my birthday so he wouldn’t have to listen to it. Not my finest moment, but apparently 1 week after release date is the exact expiration on me being patient at not having new Hanson releases before I turn into a terrible human being.

All things being equal, a 45 is generally supposed to produce better sound. That said, there are so many other more important factors that go into the difference in sound quality between various pressings that I don't think I would ever buy/not buy an album based on this. You should bring your copy to your friend's place and compare the two, I would be interested to know what your thoughts are on a direct comparison.

Boris - Attention Please. This was always my least favorite album from them and I should probably give it another chance.

I'm going to hate myself when I have to get up after every song but....Mission of Burma - The Obliterati 8x LP promo. Side A is one song, side B is a Shepard Fairey laser etching. At most, this is the third time I've listened to this in the twelve years I've owned it....good album but....effort man.

Beer: Daaank Daniel from Heist growler
Record: Mars Volta - Scabdates
Glass: Christmas Town pint glass from Frankenmuth Brewery in Frankenmuth, MI. If I were still back home, my wife and I would be in the car right now on our annual trip there for the weekend to visit Bronner’s, etc.
