Hi everybody! I haven't been on in a while, been busy working, but still brewing when I can. I've been at it a few months now, and today I'm checking in on my 5th brew, an Irish stout kit from Midwest Supplies, for my girlfriend.

Now, admittedly, I'm not currently an avid stout drinker; I'm usually a wheat beer kind of guy, and I'm learning to love IPAs. But I'm pretty sure my stout isn't supposed to look like this after two weeks in primary.

Correct me if I'm wrong?
Now, when I took a sample, the gravity reading is on the high end of my target range, but in the target range regardless. There are no offensive odors from the sample (It smells malty and a little chocolatey, as I would expect). The taste (I know! But I had to gather all the data I could) is a little flat, but I'm going to chalk that up to it being, well, flat. Plus, I wasn't exactly anxious to taste it.

So, what do you guys think? Floating white stuff in my primary: infection?

looks like maybe yeast rafts...doesn't look like a pellicle to me...I would take another SG in a couple of days and if it is the same, then bottle it up...
