Hey everyone!

So, I recently bottled a double IPA 2 weeks ago. Last night I wanted to give it a try, but it was still very flat. I figure that it will just take more time for it to properly carbonate, but I was wondering if there is a way to check the carbonation without cracking open the bottles and wasting beer.

When you bottle your next batch, use one plastic screw-top beverage bottle in a comparable size.
When that bottle gets hard as a rock you'll know the yeastie beasties chomped down on the primer...

What temp have you been storing them at? and how much priming sugar/ DME did you use?? You should have some kind of hiss when you open one up.

I have them stored at about 70 degrees F and I used about 5 ounces of corn sugar for a 5 gallon batch. The one I opened had a small amount of carbonation but not much

That's a great idea! I'll definitely try that for future batches
