Bot a 9gal kettle. Temp gauge location sits at 4gal water level. All 5gal kits have you only boiling 3 gal or less therefore temp gauge is useless. Is there a way to add an extension on temp gauge inside the pot to get it down to 2gal level?

Save it for when you start doing full boils...it wont be long, lol! In the meantime just get yourself a good probe thermometer.:mug:

On your kit instructions it says boil 2.5 gallons or more...go with or more...Id say depending on the circumference of your 9 gallon kettle to boil with 6-6.5 gallons until you boil off the x-tra 1-1.5 gallons to achieve the 5 gallons from most kits.

I will most certainly boil more next time. My wort chiller was only 50% submerged so it wasn't at full efficiency there either. I look forward to my NEXT batch already.
