thats what i thought too, friend sent it to me, thought i'd get a second opinion first, any ideas on changes?, he also talked about adding baking chocolate?

DO not add bakers chocolate, it will leave a nice gross fatty film on the top... you dont want that. Id increase the oatmeal to .75-1lb, and remove the hop additions at 30 min and 10 min. If you want a stout, you dont want to overpower tha flavor and aroma with hops, you want the malt to come through. Bitter it at 60 minutes sufficiently, and forget the other 2 hop additions. I have never seen wheat in a stout, but you can also use some 6 row pale or maris otter.... Wheat will help with the head though. Do what you like, it is your beer, just suggestions!

If you want to add chocolate, drop 8oz of cocoa powder in the last few minutes of the boil. Otherwise you'll get the nasty slick that brewpilot mentioned. Don't strain out the trub and let the beer sit on it as long as possible during fermentation.

If you are going for the flavour of a stout, you might want to add at least a half pound of roasted barley, too.
