I haven't brewed bucha in awhile but I getting back into it soon. Previously I was using plain black tea but I am interested in trying others. I am looking to by my tea in bulk. How many others do the same? What is your favorite base tea and brand?

I get the bulk packs of Whole Foods 365 brand organic black and green teas.

What does that normally run you?

Oh I want to say $5.99 or $7.99 for a box of 70 tea bags. Probably $7.99 for the organic and $5.99 for regular.
You get 7 cellophane pouches of 10 bags per box. I had been using 1 pouch of black and 1 pouch of green (20 bags total) per 10 liter batch. So 2 boxes would last 7 batches/7 weeks. I scaled back operations to only preparing an 8L batch with 5 bags of each. But it seems my wife liked the stronger flavor better.

I use a mix of loose leaf Pu-erh and Gunpowder tea, which I buy in bulk from a local chinese supermarket.

That's not bad. Owl look into whole foods or fresh market
