Thanks everyone for inspiring me to actually start controlling my mash pH! And me being me accidentally orders the 230ml calibration buffer in JUST the 7.01...

Where did you get your kit from. After reading the latest sreweybrewer article I need to get this kind of thing also.

I want to tackle this correctly now that I've ditched my snake oil pH 5.2 buffer

Bought everything from Zoro tools, Amazon was on back order for the pH meter and they had it for the same price, and saved $25 with a coupon code. I just pieced it together. Storage solution, 4.01 and 7.01 buffer solution, squeeze bottle for rinsing, a small glass syringe just cause and the Hanna waterproof pH meter

Putting an order together now on Zoro tools

The meter
7.01 buffer
4.01 calibration soln
Storage soln
Squeezy bottle.

Thanks for the promo code

Is this the meter you bought?

If so are you happy with it thus far?

Also are there items you did not get that you wished you had? (I'm trying to get to the $125 total to use the promocode). Do you think the cleaning solution would be useful. I was thinking distilled water would serve here or the storage solution.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the link to this thread. Much of the discussion was a but over my head but I think I have learned a lot nonetheless. A few very important salient points were very clearly made. Thanks for taking so much time to educate the brewing community her on HBT. I really appreciate the efforts. Really and truly over and above the norms of society.

In summary looks like I need to rethink my purchase as I really want a meter that can be accurately calibrated. Makes the process somewhat moot if this critical step cannot be accurately done.
