My keg of nut brown ale is carb'd and ready to drink but I'm not a huge fan of it and would like to let it sit and condition and drink another keg in the meantime.

Can I simply pull it out, disconnect the gas and leave it alone for a while and tap another keg?

Agreed with the previous responses. I do this all the time. My keezer hold four kegs, but sometimes I get bored with something that's on tap, I want to get something else carbed up, or I need to extra room to cold crash multiple carboys. I'll just pull out a keg and put it in the corner for a while. I keep all my beer in our spare room that stays at around 55-60 most of the year.
