I updated. keep in mind the status will be posted and updated on post number 2

would anybody be interested in starsan splits? there are a couple listed, I was thinking about being so bold as to grabbing a gallon of the stuff in a 4 way split. 1 gallon each. However they have a smaller amount available. Just curious if anybody was interested in THAT much starsan.

Star San
(5S-STAR - 32 ounce) 32 ounce bottle $12 (48 a gallon)
(5S-STAR4) 4 x 1 gallon case $118 (29.5 a gallon)

I added it to the splits. I am not 100 percent we can get this, but I think we can. That would be $0.23 per 5g bucket use. Hard to pass up for me ;)

I'll jump in on the star san... Price is right! I haven't used it before (I do OxyClean and iodophor) but was thinking of adding an acid in for keg line cleaning.

This is the deal.

Thanks for digging that up CBK.

I will close *Starsan* out.

Twogunz - I will let you and jhenderson work out the details the borwn malt but will put you on for the full amount. easier for me to keep track of.

Hey rustbucket, want to split up the SYR pickup since we have 6 people on the list now?

Was thinking:

JeffB418 picks up:
1) CidahMastah
2) TwoGunz

Rustbucket picks up:
1) jbsengineer
2) bierhaus15

Would that be alright with you?

Or does someone have something that could handle the 1000+lb and pick up the whole lot?

I keep adding to my order. So I would feel bad if someone hauled all my crap, :). I will pick it up myself. I have a pickup, so if anyone in the Syracuse area needs me to haul I would be happy to. I would also be happy to accept some gas money, :).

jbsengineer - I have you added on to PBW - so all the splits are closed up that could take any. That is such a great deal on the cleaners, I hope that the rules haven't changed and we can still order them.

One last item before we close this and I get actual price from NCM...

Any hop orders going in? Or are we set?

I did six strains last year myself. This year I am doing a bulk draft cider ferment with L1118 and doing a couple very small batches with some other types for something new to try. Might even do a cyser with some buckwheat or orange blossom honey.

Oh by the way we pressed somewhere in the 160-180g range this weekend, but also had over 56 people over!! We sent people home with a ton of that cider - cider came out great, rich and very nice velvety body to it. Was a lot of work to press though!

how much nutriant do you add to your cider for say six gallons?

Cidah/rust wanna do beer swap again? I got a porter, wit and american lager(lagering right now.

sure!, ill get a list of things i have right now... sadly i dont have any stouts or what not yet.. (brewing this upcoming week a stout "left hand brewing - milk stout clone")

then later next month doing a whole bunch.. my pipeline is so full at the moment i dont have any room to put anything anywhere...

I can say definite maybe on that haha!

I have to check to see what I have in the pipeline that I can bottle up and get back with you - I taxed my pipeline at the party big time. Served draft cider, Guinness stout clone, Samuel jackson and Sister Star of the sun IPA. I wiped out all 4 kegs and then threw in a partial keg of nick danger porter and rye IPA - killed them as well.

Time to take inventory!

Should have ND porter, and second partial of Guinness.

I have a duvel clone but that isn't ready by any stretch, needs another month of cellaring

No sweat! Good luck on the cider. I would generally ferment in the 65-68F unless you are trying to do something specific with the yeast.

Cidah, did you decide what to do regarding paypal? Since I'm not local, I would like to get my payment going to you as soon as possible (if we are doing it the old fashioned way, i.e. USPS). If so, please PM me your address and I will get a check covering a high end estimate on the way.

Also, is there anyone out there in this group buy from the Albany area? If so, any interest in car-pooling? (The bad news is that I have all partials which means lots of buckets vs. easier to deal with sacks of grains.)

Payment details I am still working on. Right now i have an email into paypal and I hope they respond in a favorable manner. I might just say the hell with it and use it and see what happens. However if we do use it and I get nailed with fees I don't feel its right I should have to pay them, especially since I donate my time to arrange these buys.

Twogunz had also sent me a link showing how you can pass payments back and forth via amazon.com if you have an account. Has anybody used that before? If people are receptive to trying that, we could potentially give that a go. They aren't explicit in their fee schedule and basically say that any payments between account holders are free. I find this a little too good to be true. I think they limit transactions to $3k per month. Either way I haven't read through it enough to fully understand it.

I am considering taking checks, but to be frank that is a PITA for me to have to collect a bunch of checks and deposit them and then turn around and forward the amount to the buyer. I also don't want to subject the buyer to that PITA since he is helping us out.

suggestions welcome!

Everyone eat a few bucks and cover your paypal fees. Im ok with it. When i did my huge order 200+ bucks it was only like 10-15 extra. Otherwise mail cashier checks or cash.

How did you pay? it looked to me like it would charge the "seller" our buyer about 3%. Is there a way to have the person paying take the hit up front?
