does anyone else think this abbreviation is lame and overused here?
I do!
I like his books. I don't like rdwhahb.Rdwhahb
anyone who uses the abbreviation needs to get outside a little more often. turn off the minecraft, interact with other humans, move our of your in-laws basement.Anyone who uses SWMBO abbreviation has been emasculated enough to have their man-card taken away. At least say you discussed X and decided against doing X.

oh yeah, I can see it both ways. but....its lame either way. tongue in cheek or serious... lameAm I the only one who sees the phrase and tongue-in-cheek and not meant to be taken seriously?

Political correctness takes another victim. Please please please stop with the swmbo. please
The only thing about SWMBO I don't like is that they think they must be obeyed.
(Disclaimer: I've been known to have misogynistic views)
I resent that in many tv shows, movies and commercials, it seems OK for girls/women to step all over boys/men. And that the men seem too willing to be stepped on in the hopes that they might get lucky next weekend.
This is probably why I'm currently alone. I'm not willing to put up with this nonsense.
missed the point my 100 miles. its lame, not incorrect. huge differencePolitical correctness takes another victim.![]()

popularized in the 1970's? irrelevant today ..This may just be a young crowd. The phrase was popularized in the 70's in a British television series. It may have appeared even earlier in the play and books from which the program developed, but I haven't seen or read those. It is intended to be humorous.

"The term originates from the H. Rider Haggard novel, "She" (first published 1886). The character Ayesha, known as She-who-must-be-obeyed, the Queen of Death, the White Goddess,of the lost city of Kôr who rules her kingdom with terror, She is the very image of the Femme Fatale. To disobey her or to scorn her is to earn & receive instantaneous death.
I never thought about it as sexist or mysogenistic... It just strikes a nerve with me. why is it used so much here? why here an nowhere else? why its continued overuse? get over it... am I right?I rarely notice it anymore. But I've been here a long time. And I never use it myself.
I am curious to know, specifically, what you find lame or offensive about it. Most people just say it's sexist, or misogynistic.

Like I said before.. im sure its use will continue in an obviously annoying way. You don't have to get over it, its your life bro, its not like your swmbo is telling you that it must be stopped. barfWhy are we the ones who have to get over it when (again) it's tongue-in-cheek vs intentionally insulting, and only a handful of people find it annoying?
