I bought a Kindle book on ancient beers and I'm wanting to make a Gruit. I can't find the biggest ingredient though, Sweet Gale or Bog Myrtle.

Does anyone know where I can get this? There are also some other herbs that are hard to get too.

Thanks

Sweet Gale can be found in bogs. I know of one or two in the eastern part of the UP. I should check that out sometimes and see if there is any growing up there. Looks like the maps I find for it show it to be a northern US plant. There is some for sale on Amazon, but it's kind of pricey.

Do you know how much you will need?

I will be keeping my eyes open the next time I'm hanging out in some wet areas. It looks like it's not too uncommon up here.
