Swamp cooler question

A there a formula to take the temp of your swamp cooler and figure out the temp in the fermenter

I just keep a floating thermometer in there and try to keep it 60-62 for the first 5 days. This should keep it in the 70 and under range in side. Then below 70 for the rest of the fermentation till two to three weeks has passed. This works for me, ymmv.
