HBT Friends,
I have just boiled and stored my first 5gal batch on 7/15/11. HUZZAH!!! Stoked and ready to start another batch this week. My biggest problem is that our local Brew Supply Store is employing immature (kind word) individuals. Yes I am new to this and I hope that my question here is not going to attract the same patronizing and belittling comments as I experieinced at said store.

Anyone in SoCal San Diego area have a Brew Store that they can suggest to me?

I am hoping that I am following rules here as I "searched" the forums using keywords to find a similar thread. Canada is too far and the only result having popped up.

@ DaBoz:
Did not want to throw any any names out. I was more than a little disappointed as there are a few real good and helpful employees there. Just dislike engaging in question/answers with helpful individuals only to have one person "butt in" with disparaging remarks (constantly!). I'll continue to use them but am looking for other options as well.

Has your experience there been better than mine?

Will look up Mother Earth.

Thanks!

I've dealt mostly with the owner who is very helpful and down to earth. As mentioned, check out Mother Earth Brewing in Vista, they have a tasting room and a Home Brew Shop.

Edit: Definitely check out Home Brew Mart, that's where I bought all my brew gear before moving north to Carlsbad.

Mother Earth.. I would not go anywhere else. Helpful, nice, and they brew very good beer. They have a whole setup in the back with tasting. Stone sent me to these guys and I absolutely loved it. Good supplies, lots of knowledge and super friendly. I bought a kit from them a few days ago and they threw in yeast for free!

Thank you all for the suggestions. I will definately try mother Earth and give the guys at Hydrobrew another try. Home Brew Mart is a trek, I was lucky to be in the area to check it out. Once again, thanks and let's drink some beer.

Im close to home brew mart and home brews and gardens ( in south park, near stones new tasting room), but Mother Earth sounds cool. I want to check it out next time I'm a bit further up north for whatever reason.

I like Hydrobrew never really had any problems with them. Plus after they get to know you they will give you some pulls from their taps. I have not been to the homebrew shop in Vista but, I will be checking it out when I get home in August.
