Hi -looking for suggestions - here are the parameters:
This is a pre-packaged, 1-gallon mix from Brooklyn Brew Shop that I bought a while back for my oldest son; he's just now getting around to brewing it.
It is described as a "West Coast Golden" Strong Ale, which I take to be a straight-up, basic Belgian Strong Ale with American hops; in this case, Cascade hops.
The grains are fine, I am sure, but the hops and yeast are long gone. I have a spare packet of yeast, so no worries there, but my dilemma is the hops. I know that it uses Cascade hops, but am not sure as to the amount I should use.
The instructions provide the times to add the hops, but not the amounts, other than that they are equal amounts for each addition.
What I need are suggestions for the amount of hops to add at 60, 30, 10 and knock-out.
The goal is a fairly well-balanced beer that is not over-the-top hoppy where bitterness, aroma and flavor are concerned.
Thanks in advance -
Ron
