Is priming sugar just powdered sugar or is there something special about it?

Dextrose...corn sugar..you can also use cane (table) sugar, too, but i believe it's a different amount needed (need to use conversion factor?)

slightly different conversion. 1/2 cup corn sugar=about 5/8 cup cane sugar, from what i know (but then again, what DO i know?)

Yes, what he said. Never use powdered sugar in brewing, for any brewing purpose.

Yep, also don't accidentally use it as flour to batter fish, then pan-fry. Can happen if you store it in a large unmarked baggie. Good way to ruin a bunch of gills, perch, and sunfish you spent all day catching. Don't ask me how I come across this bit of wisdom ;)

It also doesn't work too well for making breakfast gravy! :ban:
