The wife is contemplating making a Cider House kit and subbing in pureed pineapple for some/all the corn sugar the kit says to use. Has anyone done the math to find out how much pineapple it takes to supplant a pound of corn sugar?

Strain the pineapple juice and fill a test-cylinder and compare your hydrometer reading to dextrose?

Keep in mind that Sucrose (cane sugar) yields 46 ppg while Dextrose (corn sugar) yields about 42 ppg. The sugars in the pineapple syrup are mostly sucrose with some fructose and glucose.
