So, in the one gallon carboys/growlers, where is the one gallon line? :eek:

Actually a good question. I don't know!! lol. If you took a measuring cup and poured in 4 carefully measured quarts you would know.
 
If you go to the supermarket and look at the jugs of Carlo Rossi or whatever other cheap-comes-in-a-gallon-jug wine they sell, that's going to be pretty close...as I recall, it's somewhere near the middle of where it starts taper up.

Or you could just put a gallon of measured liquid in, and then mark all your containers using that reference!
 
It depends on the bottle. Not all are quite the same shape, so I'd measure and mark each by filling with 4 qt.
