I would stabilize my digital cam on something like a beanbag chair if nothing else(in case you dont have a cam-corder). Set it it for night , and take photos at regular intervals. thats if you want proof of what you are already seeing.

Does the temp of the room change?

kitty-corner (sp?)

:off: Todd, my wife is from Jersey and insists upon calling diagonal "catty-corner", whereas I from the midwest refer to it as "kitty-corner."

Just an observation. Please continue with the spookiness.

things picked up a bit yesterday with 2 occurences. The first happened early, just as I got out of bed at about 5:10am. Here is my routine, I get up and go out into the hall, the laundry room is the first room on the right and that is where I feed the cat to shut her filthy-yapper up. I don't turn any lights on, there is enough light coming in from the windows from our neighbor's front porch spotlight across the street. Now, some more info. Like i said, the laundry room is the first room on the right and then the guest room is after that. On the left, are the stairs kitty-corner (sp?) to the laundry room and then the man room is just past the stairs. The 2nd upstairs bathroom is straight ahead if you're leaving the master bedroom. So, like every other day, I walk out into the hallway to feed that dirty cat but instead of seeing darkness, I see what looks to me like a pair of legs walking into the man room. I didn't see anything else, just legs and it was quick, like someone were trying to avoid me. I didn't hear anything like footsteps or someone moving but I looked into the man room and of course there's nothing there. I believe in an earlier post I had mentioned seeing legs outside my apartment back door on our patio as if someone were walking by but no one is ever there.
2nd story was yesterday evening, probably around 7:00pm. At this point, the wind was going nuts outside so I was hearing a lot of "wind noise" from the attic and vinyl siding. I was in the man room, Floyd was downstairs, not sure where that damn cat was at. Anyway, I heard some thumping around downstairs and as usual whenever someone comes in, Floyd gets up from his bed and I heard his collar and tags jingling. I go downtstairs to greet SWMBO but no one is there. Floyd is staring at the entryway and then gives me one of those puzzled looks that only dogs can do. Like I said, it was really windy but the noises I heard weren't wind noise, they were noises consistent with someone walking in and clunking around down there.

To be continued.... I think!

You're dog is just a really bad guard dog... someone came in to rob you, took something and left... lol kidding

As for the legs, that's freaky, but when i was a little younger I was sleeping facing the wall. Well i woke up cleared my eyes and rolled over. Closed them briefly and opened them again. I saw a figure about 5'10" walking through the kitchen (my room is adjacent to it) and as it turned to look at me it disappeared, it was visible from the head to the waist as it went lower than that the image tapered off to the point there was noting below the bottom of the thigh. Needless to say being around 13 it freaked me out.

P.S. Maybe we share the same ghost and he's at my place looking for his legs, but they're at your place lol...

At least it is not pestering you!

My parents bought some land (10 acres) and built on it when i was about 17. We moved it and it was great. I kept having this insane dream about some dude i went to school with. He and I were hanging out playing, shooting hoops or what ever down by an unattached garage that my dad built to store a tractor and some other stuff in. In the dream we find some bones report them and a huge investigation turns up evidence it was an indian burial ground. No big deal.

A few years after i move out my family and i are talking about ghost stories and my mom started telling me about how ceiling fans in the house would come on at random. They are not the remote kind, but they do make a ding sound when swithcing from off to on and from speed to different speed.

She said that a dude when they were building the house had a "premenition" that is was built on an indian burial ground. So i spoke up and told her about my dreams. we have yet to find any bones.

Since then i do not know if it is in my head or not but there is that erie feeling when you are alone in that house at night.

DeadYetiBrew - I have had the same experience, woke up kinda abrupt from napping on the couch only to see a little girl standing 10 feet away. I froze and couldn't move a muscle, but after a few seconds she just faded away. I didn't feel completely awake, but I just couldn't write it off as a hallusination, it felt so real.

Anyway, apparentely in many cases it has a scientific explanation. I don't recall if I saw this on tv or read an article, but the point is that if you wake up kind of sudden while being in a REM sleep phase, sometimes you will be trapped in between reality and a dream world where you can experience some vivid "hallusinations". Dreams can play tricks on our senses, I have woken up more than once yelling "someone get that damn door" or some other stupid things only to realize the doorbell or whatever was only in my dreams.
I am not sure I can say that it has a natural explanation though, the whole experience felt so real.

I believe there's a spiritual level, and some of us are more sensitive to it than others. My grandfather died when I was a young lad. A few months later our family was debating on getting a dog or not, one day my grandmother called and told my mother that she thought it was a good idea to get a dog, and none of us had told her. I found out this later, my mom didn't tell me because I was so young, but my grandma had said that my grandfather came to visit her from time to time, and that he had told her that we were thinking of getting a dog. That really spooked me out.

Oh yeah, also that the haunting series on discovery really creeps me out. Some of it just seems a little bit over the top though, kids getting posessed by deamons and what not.

Anywho, I should be getting back to my hoegaarden. Good luck with your ghost hunting. Cheers :mug:

I'm remodeling my bathroom and I tore up the existing tile tonight. The subfloor underneath had a really cheesy skull painted on it. I wonder if my house is haunted by the ghost of a bad 12 year old goth artist? :D

Seriously, after having lived in a house that had some odd unexplained happenings I won't scoff at anyone when they see or hear strange things.

Man Todd, legs would freak me out. However, if the weirdness still isn't threatening tho, then you guys should be good. Whatever it is apparently just likes making noise and seeing how you react whenever it shows itself. And since you guys seem to be getting along so well, I would imagine things may still settle down.

But do keep us updated. I know it's prolly disconcerting for you guys, but it sounds like you're dealing with it in all the right ways.

To keep evil spirits away, the auld Scots would piss on the doorposts of the entrance to their home if they came after dark. So all you have to do is drink some homebrew, and pee on the doorjamb. Tell SWMBO the internet told you to do it!

Seriously, reading this thread is making my skin crawl. I have a severe phobia of ghosts and sometimes have horrible dreams about them.

There's an old Russian belief that every house had a spirit called a domovoi. He looked like a small hairy human, and he took care of the house, but if you pi**ed him off you were in trouble.

So, to keep the domovoi happy they would pour a drop of vodka on the floor. Legend had it he would catch it in midair and be appeased.
